www.vintagekramer.com/

Have you ever heard about a brand named Kramer? It is a brand of musical instrument which is only specified in guitar and bass.

Kramer is a well known brand among the guitarist because there are many guitar heroes all over the world who use this brand of guitar like Richie Sambora which is the guitarist of Bon Jovi and Tom Morella which is one of the best guitarist ever.

For those who are interested with this brand you can go to the website that I have write earlier. Thats all. Thanks.

China's milk heartland fights to reclaim trust

Thousands of children were poisoned and at least four infants died in this cases. I hope the manufacturer get a lesson from this cases and started to change their way to produce pure and healthy milk. Avoid hurting the infants is what the manufacturer need to do now. In my opinion, the company need a very long time to gain back trustworthy from the consumers.Lastly, I hope those immoral manufacturer will get punishment according to the law.

Probe into sex video clips

I do not know why the secondary students did all of these? Why they having their sexual intercourse during their school life? What is their parents doing now?I'm strongly not agree what they did including the spread out of the sexual video clip. The students have to control themselve from the seduction, especially for girls,do not let your boyfriend have the chance unleast you are married. And I believe all girls notice that they are dangerous when alone,so keep in a group to protect yourself. And male, please respect to female, they are not the thing to let off your stress.

http://www.articles.com.my/Article/Bad-Breath-Treatment/10601

Here is an interesting topic that may be of interest to some of you out there.

Everyone has bad breath and it is common. Though many take it as a laughing matter, but seriously it isn't something to laugh about.

Just as an info, according to the article, a person can have bad breath due to the presence of Helicobacter pylori which is responsible for the unpleasant smell on the breath.

Liver or kidney disease can cause unpleasant stomach breath. From this we can know that if someone constantly has bad brreath, then maybe he or she needs to go to a doctor and get him or herself a check up.

Do you have bad breath always and can't stop it? You may need to check.

Thank you

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypocrisy

To put it simple, hypocrisy is a state when people acting as they are our friends, the next thing you know they stab you in the back. Well, at the very least that is what I think.

Is it a bad morale? I wouldn't say so. It is indeed a need in some sort of occasion and situation. You'll see, cause when the chips are down, this 'civilised' people, they'll eat each other.

Who's into entertainment news?

Well, the latest things happened was Madonna is getting a divorce with Guy Ritchie. They had ended their eight years of marriage on last Wednesday. EIGHT years!! Maybe at the western countries divorce is a very common thing. They having divorce like having their meals everyday or having their car undergoing services one a year. But as for in Malaysia, it's something that's not being proud of. And it's something seldom happened in Malaysia too. Even if it did happened all the times, we wouldn't know it as not a good thing to talk about.

Hey! This is one article you have got to read. Ever wondered why there is a saying that "time waits for no man"

Yes this is so true. Life seems to be in such a rush. Imagine, we are going to reach the end of the semester! feeling happy? well of course I am happy if you ask me. But guess what? I do not have the time to even think of having fun knowing the work load that I have to carry on my shoulders during this short period of time.

But then again I do realise some people do not seem to be worried that there are in such rush to finish up assingments and many more.

My personal advice, "please wake up!" Time waits for no man.

This is a good article to give you the idea of how precious time may be.

Dangerous road habits

In this article, the writer try to advise Malaysian to change their road habits, especially people who are working in cities.I read that some of them even did not check the road whether safe to across and just move on.Some are glued to their music player headphones while talking over their mobile phone, without realising the risks involved as they can’t see or hear properly any oncoming vehicle. The drivers and cyclists also have to slow down their driving speed when moving in busy cities due to number of people. This might decrease cases of traffic accidentsand number of casualty.

Oil price decrease corresponding to the decreasing of the world price of oil. From what i heard before, it will decrease until there is no reason anymore to do that because of many things happened in that business and we don't know and its related to the world politics.

Just to let you know, the oil price per litre now is RM2.30 for petrol, RM2.20 for diesel. My advise to all of you, don't always think that the decreasing of the oil price will make sure the future become better.

Due to what happened in China few months before, many products have been taken back by manufacturers and even some of Malaysia's product were affected too.

I hope this melanie's case can be solved soon as we can safely take milk and biscuits. We don't have to worry whether it is save or not like when we buy milk and biscuits before.

72 million for sterilize pets! Sorry, for me, I don't agree on sterlizing my pets or animals. This is because I believed they have their rights too to give birth and their own generation. Just because we're human and we have more intelligence than animals, it doesn't means that we have the authority or the right to do what's the "best" for them.

For those who sterilize their pets, have you think about your pets feelings? It's cruel you know. Let's put it this way, if one's parents sterilized their own son or daughter and claimed that it's for their own good, what would one thinks bout it? Can one accept the decision made?

So, please stop this action and if you do want to continue this action, please don't claimed that it's for their own good. You know it's not. It's for YOUR own good.
Animals do have the right to live on this earth too.

A toddler being flown to a hospital died in a fiery helicopter crash with three crew members when the aircraft clipped a radio tower wire and went down in a suburban Chicago field, authorities said Thursday. About 1,000 people who live near the 734-foot tower were advised to leave their homes because of damage to the structure. The helicopter was flying about 50 feet lower than the top of the tower when the wire was hit.

Well, all I can said is, poor Kirstin, she just arrived this world for just a year. In this year, she often sick and need to go to the hospital for treatments. Unfortunately last Thursday, it was her last trip to the hospital.

Guess what is the longest bug in the world? It can be foun in Borneo. It is......a Stick Bug.

A stick bug from the island of Borneo measuring well over a foot in length has been identified by researchers as the world's longest insect, British scientists said Thursday.

Looking like a pencil-thin shoot of bamboo, the dull-green insect measures about 22 inches, if its twig-like legs are counted. Its body length is 14 inches, beating the previous record held by Phobaeticus kirbyi, also from Borneo, by about an inch.

Their main defense is basically hanging around, looking like a twig. It will even sway in the wind.

I think all of you is familar with Titanic right? A tragic accident and Titanic was sunk in to deep sea. Only a few of survivors managed to save themselves and the only one survivor live until today is Millvina Dean. She was only 2 months old when she was wrapped in a sack and lowered into a lifeboat from the doomed Titanic. Now 96, the last survivor of the tragic sinking is selling mementos of the disaster to help pay her nursing home fees.

Rescued from the bitterly cold Atlantic on that April 1912 night, Dean, her 2-year-old brother and her mother were taken to New York with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Before returning home to England, they were given a small wicker suitcase of donated clothing, a gift from New Yorkers to help them rebuild their lives.

Now, Dean is selling the suitcase and other Titanic mementos to help pay her nursing home fees. They are expected to go for $5,200 at an auction of Titanic memorabilia Saturday in Devizes in western England.

Among the items are rare prints of the Titanic and letters from the Titanic Relief Fund offering her mother one pound, seven shillings and sixpence a week in compensation.

Marriage is tough! You sure know Nelson Mandela, right? Let see what had happened to him.

Nelson Mandela spent 27 years
in a South African prison,
got beaten and tortured every day for 27 years,
and did it with no problems. Not even a single whine.
Made to do hard labour
in 100-degree South African heat
for 27 years, and did it with no problems,
He got out of jail, after 27 years of torture,
spent six months with his wife,
and then asked judge for a petition for a divorce. See?
Told you it was hard.

Sometimes getting a separation is the only and best way to sort this kinda things out. Of course after you have done with all the efforts of saving the marriage.

http://animals.howstuffworks.com/fish/piranha-info.htm

Are Piranhas Really Dangerous?

Piranha, a freshwater fish of South America noted for its ferocity. It is also known as the caribe. There are several species of piranhas, found in Venezuela and south through Brazil. They are from about 8 to 18 inches (20 to 45 cm) long, with deep, thin bodies that may be silvery blue, green, brown, or black.

Piranhas may attack any living animal—including man—that enters the water they inhabit, and often eat their own kind. They attack in large schools, sometimes gathering by the hundreds to strip the flesh from a large animal. Piranhas are good food fish, but are hard to catch as their sharp teeth cut lines easily.

Piranhas (pih RAHN yuhz) have triangle-shaped teeth that are razor-sharp. The fish are known as cruel killers. Sometimes they swim in large schools. They may attack a large fish or other animal in the water. The piranhas will use their sharp teeth to chop their victim into tiny bits.

However, piranhas are not always that deadly. In fact, they usually swim alone. They eat small fish as well as seeds and fruits that fall into the water. Piranhas rarely attack people.

Piranhas swim in rivers and lakes in South America. And they are kept as pets around the world. Because they eat so much and can be expensive to feed, some pet owners have released them into local waters. This practice has introduced piranhas to habitats outside their native range. In these new environments, many piranhas have eaten large numbers of fish, frogs, and other water animals.

Piranhas belong to the family Characidae.

http://science.howstuffworks.com/nebula.htm

How Nebulae Work??

The space probe Pioneer 10 was launched on March 3, 1972. After a journey through our solar system, it entered deep space, on a trajectory that will take it to Aldebaran, a star located in the constellation Taurus. What will Pioneer 10 encounter as it makes its two-million-year journey across interstellar space? Nothingness? A void? Complete blackness?

In reality, the great emptiness that exists between the Sun and Aldebaran is not empty at all. It's filled with dust and gases, what astronomers call interstellar matter. Sometimes, this interstellar matter is collected in such a way that it's visible to Earth-bound observers, either as a glowing cloud or as a dark silhouette against a lighter background. These clouds are nebulae. A single such cloud is a nebula, which is Latin for "mist" or "cloud."

Until the 20th century, astronomers used the term nebula to describe any glowing, cloud-like object observed from Earth. The telescopes of the day revealed very little detail about these objects, but astronomers could see enough to know that these nebulae came in different shapes. Some were called spiral nebulae; others were called elliptical nebulae. Then, in the 1920s, American astronomer Edwin Powell Hubble, using the most powerful telescope of his day, discovered that many of the objects believed to be vague, indistinct clouds were in fact galaxies. Specifically, he observed that the Andromeda spiral nebula was actually a spiral galaxy.

Today, astronomers know that galaxies and nebulae are unique objects with different characteristics. Yet this distinction alone is not enough to fully explain what nebulae are and how they work. This article will go beyond the fundamental definition to provide a more thorough overview of nebulae -- what they're, what they're made of, where they're located and what they do. Our first step is to understand a nebula's place in the grand design of the universe.

Launching the Satellite
Ariane-5, the latest French satellite launcher, is scheduled to launch the Rosetta Satellite on January 21, 2003, from Kourou in French Guiana, South America [Schwehm, 1998]. Ariane-5 undergoes several steps when launching a satellite out of Earth's atmosphere [Ariane-5, 1998]. The launch begins with the ignition of the main stage booster, shown in Figure 2 (left). Upon confirmation that the main stage engine is operating properly, the two solid boosters are ignited to achieve lift-off. After the solid boosters have exhausted all their fuel, at an altitude of 60 kilometers, they are jettisoned and Ariane-5 continues its flight through the upper atmosphere propelled only by the main stage booster, as shown in Figure 2 (center). The fairing is jettisoned as soon as the atmosphere is thin enough for the satellite not to need the fairing's protection, as shown in Figure 2 (right). After the launcher adjusts its trajectory, the launcher releases the satellite to begin its eight-year voyage to Wirtanen. The launch trajectory of Ariane-5 is designed to ensure that the main stage engine, the two solid boosters, and the fairing fall safely into the Pacific Ocean for recovery.

I curious. Why they need to steal people's identity? They don't like about their real identity? Do they think of their parents? If they changed their identity, they really can let go everything? Their family, their friend, they relative? Well, I hope they realise what they did wrong.

http://www.ehealthmd.com/library/stress/STR_whatis.html

Hello friends..
Today I want to share with you about an article I read. It is about stress and how to manage it. Do you guys know what is stress?Well, acctually stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to pressure from the outsite world. Common stress reactions include tension, irritability, inability to concentrate, and a variety of physical symptoms that include headache and a fast heartbeat. It is almost impossible to live without some stress right? And most of us wouldn't want to, because it give life some spice and excitement. But, if stress gets out of control, it may hurm our health, our relationships, and our enjoyment of life.

What are the signs of stress? Stress can cause both mental symptoms. The effect of stress are different for different people. The mental symptoms of stress include tension, irribility, inability to concentrate, feeling excessively tired and get trouble sleeping. The physical symptoms of stress include dry mouth, pounding heart, difficult to breath, stomach upset, frequent urination, sweating palms and tight muscles that may cause pain and trembling.

So, the best ways to manage the stress including watching a funny movie, listening musics, spending time by doing positive leisure pursuits rather than, for example, spending time watching television or doing some relaxing hobbies.

In addition, we can get some massage therapy. Massage is the gentle practice of manipulating the body's tissues in order to soothe and heal. Massage can reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, oncreases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, and increases the production of endorphins, which are the body's own natural painkillers.

These informations are really useful especially for a student to get down stress,so that we can focus on our study and perhaps get the best result in quiz, test, and exam.Lets go for it...!!!

An Egyptian tycoon and an associate pleaded innocent Saturday to charges they orchestrated the gruesome murder of a Lebanese pop star in a case that has transfixed the Middle East.

Lebanese singer Suzanne Tamim was stabbed to death in her apartment in Dubai in July. A month later, powerful Egyptian real estate mogul and lawmaker Hisham Talaat Moustafa was stripped of his parliamentary immunity and arrested for ordering the murder.

In my opinion, murdering someone is cruel enough. If they were really innocent, I hope the real criminals could quickly fall into the hands of the police before he strikes again. This is for the society's good. If a murderer were still unleashed, walking around the city, maybe another life would be taken too by the same murderer.

An Emirates flight from Australia to Dubai was aborted and the aircraft returned to Perth after a burning smell was detected, the airline said Thursday. All passengers on flight EK425 disembarked normally after the plane landed safely and would be rescheduled on another Emirates flight later in the day, a spokesman said in a statement. About 120 passengers were reportedly on the Airbus A340.

Luckily, they had detected the smell and they were staying alert enough. If they still let the flight to take off, maybe a tragic air crash would happen. Lots of lives would be taken and it would be devastating.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Migraine

Today I want to wtite about health info; migraine. Migraine is a neurolodical syndrome characterized by altered bodily experienced, painful headaches, and nausea. It is a commoncondition which affect women more frequently than men.

The typical migraine headache is one-sided and pulsating, lasting 4 to 72 hours. Accompanying complaints are nursea and vomiting, and a heightened sensitivity to bright lights (photophobia) and noise (hyperacusis). Approximately one third of people who experience migraines get a preceding aura, in which a patient may sense a strange light or unplesant smell.

Although the exact cause of migraine remains unknown, the most widespread theory is that it is a disorder of the serotonergic control system. Recently, PET scans have demonstrated the aura to coincide with spreading cortical depression after an episode of greatly incressed blood flow ( up to 300% higher than baseline). There also appear to be migraine variants that originate in the brainstem and involve dysfunction in calcium and potassium ion transport between cell membranes. Genetic factors may also contribute. Study on twins show that genes have a 60 to 65% influence on on the development of migraine. Fluctuating hormone levels show a relation to migraine in several ways: three quarters of adult migraine patients are female while migraine affects approximately equal numbers of boys and girls before puberty, and migraine is known to disappear during in a substantial number of sufferers. The treatment of migraine begins with simple painkillers for headache and anti-emetics for nausea, and avoidance of triggers if present. Specific anti-migraine drugs can be used to treat migraine. If the condition is severe and frequent enough, preventative drugs might be considered.

SHORT OF MONEY, SHORT ON LOVE

For me, this case is really worst. The problem should be able to solve as quickly as possible. But it seems that the guy do not understand what should he do. “Money Always Not Enough” is a problem that can be solve easily through many methods if he know how to manage his money and keep an order of his daily budget.

I felt pity to his girl friend. She really made the wrong choice as she choose a guy that really worst in her life. She should leave him without any regret as he wouldn’t be able to give her the well-being in life. If money is the basis for the relationship, then she truly has nothing to stay for. The poor fellow is probably under a lot of stress because he can’t seem to make ends meet.

Instead of asking for money he doesn’t have, she could give him encouragement and support. If she feels that she are not prepared to brave the worst with him, then do not bother to hang around. Love is a constant test of resilience and selflessness. How many couples can weather the storms in life together?

Fun way to learn English

In Malaysia, still have many children or student who stay at rural area don't have a good basic of english. But the students in Malacce are very lucky because their teachers are giving a very big effect to find out the fun way to teach students which is Newspaper-In- Education.

Those teachers are willing to sacrifice their time and trying their best to help students to gain knowledge. Besides that, their creativity helps students to learn things without boredom out of the classroom. I hope those students will appreciate their teachers' effort in the section. Lastly, I oso wish this program can run smoothly and help students who are poor in english.

CROSBY MAN SHOOTS WIFE, TURNS GUN ON SELF

A Crosby man shot his wife several times on Friday then apparently turned the gun on himself after the pair argued about a possible divorce. The man died at a hospital, and his wife was taken by flight to nearest hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

That man is really muddleheaded tactless because he killed himself instead of his wife. Maybe he has a lot of pressure that made him to do so. Maybe he still loves his wife very much that made him can’t lose a wife. Anyway, its better let it to be gone as there’s no love between them. Actually all the problem can be solving under peace condition as long as he thinks positively and react wisely. I hope that others can take this as a lesson and prevent this incident happened again in our society.

All of us have the potential to succeed. However, we cannot expect success to come knocking at your door without us lifting a finger. We ourselves must possess the right attitude and endeavour to do things in a certain way to achieve success.

If we look at successful people around us, we will realise that they carry with them a strong conviction that they will succeed. They do not let negative feelings take controlof them. They are able to deal with any obstacles in their path because their strong faith in God gives them the inner strength to do so. They see God as their guide in everything that they do. Setbacks may occur in the course of events but these are not viewed in a negative light. Instead, successful people will analyse the reasons for failure and avoid making the same mistakes again.

To be a successful person, we have to improve ourselves constantly. We cannot affort to rest on our laurels by telling ourselves that we have sufficient knowledge and expertise and, therefore, do not require to learn about further advancements. If we adopt such an attitude, then we will soon find ourselves lagging behind others who do not have our complacent way of thinking. In addition to updating our knowledge base, we need to be able to adjust to the changes expected of us as a result of the latest trends in the market. In this way, we will be able to avail ourselves of new opportunities.

Last but not least, we have to ensure that we have the support of all those who are close to us; be it at home; at the workplace or at the social level. When this support is present, it gives us the strength to persevere and overcome the obstacles in our path. This suppport will not appear instantaneously when we demand it. We ahve to nature our relationship with family, colleagues and friends. Only when we offer love to our close one, and have respect for ans show appreciation to our colleagues and friends, will they reciprocate in the same manner. Once we success, we will find that it is not difficult to stay on this path. So, what are we waiting for? Take the steps and before you know it, you will be on your way.

WHY CHINA IS SO UPBEAT?

Unlike India, where the prime minister has said nothing about the downturn, the Chinese leadership talks every day about confidently combating the crisis — and focusing on rural reforms to expand demand.

Growth in China, while slowing, is expected to remain quite robust based on domestic demand. We expect worse times to come… but China should be able to grow at high single-digit rates even next year. Though China's financial system is not directly influenced by the world's economic turmoil, its real economy is significantly affected.

GOOD LIVING - PERFECT TWOSOME

A supportive family and a bunch of like-minded friends play an important role in our life. However, it is rare to meet someone who fulfills all your expectations. By accepting a relationship which is less than perfect, you will learn to adapt compromise and in the process, develop greater self-awareness.

A right direction is very important in this concept. According to the Compass School of feng shui, there are eight directions in all. Four are beneficial, four are harmful. Identifying and implementing the ways of positivity and avoiding the adverse ones is a must. These directions are calculated according to your date of birth. There is a unique vibration emanating from the compass directions that will influence you in a positive or negative way.

INFLATION: WHAT IT IS AND HOW DO WE MEASURE IT?

On the face of it there couldn’t be two simpler questions: what is inflation and how do we measure it?
The answer is very simple. Inflation is the phenomenon of rising prices and we measure it by comparing one period with another. If prices averaged 100 last year and 105 this year then we have an inflation rate of 5%. Behind such simple questions lie dozens of others that are, sadly, rather more complex to answer.
It’s a really big issues happened in our world today. Inflation should be able to be settling if there is a compromise between the consumer and manufacturer. As a consumer, we have to make our choice wisely when selecting a product and always buy the necessary things only. Always plan before we go shopping is the ultimate solution to reduce the inflation.

Hallo, you know what? everyone says that the teenage years are very difficult years, both for teenagers and for the people around them. One for the common problems that I come across in my counselling work is tension and misunderstanding between teenagers and their parents. Sometimes it seems that parents don't understand you at all, and you don't understand them either. Communication is one of the most important elements involved in getting along with other people. So now, I'm going to give you a few ideas about how you can communicate better with your parents. Maybe with better communication you will find that you will get along better with them too. First, try treating your parents as if they were ypur friends. Give them a chance, just as you would to a friends.

Secondly, remember that they are human, just like you. You know how to miserable you feel when things are going badly for you, but did you ever consider that your parents might have problems too? Make a point to talk to them about everyday things. Ask them about their work, their interest, their opinions about world affairs.

Thirdly, when you have something you ought to discuss with your parents, be well prepared. Get your ideas sorted out beforehand and think of how you will answer points that they may raise. Getting started is the most difficult part. Choose a time when everyone is free and relaxed.

Finally, if your attempt doesn't work out as planned, don't give up. Try again another time, but wait until things have cooled down. And if you raised your voice or bacame emotional and said anything you should not have said, apologise. A sincere apology repairs a lot of damage and it also tells your parents that you are really a mature and considerate person.

http://www.usnews.com/blogs/college-cash-101/2008/10/17/6-ways-to-get-funding-to-study-overseas-and-one-way-not-to.html

6 WAYS TO GET FUNDING TO STUDY OVERSEAS, AND 1 WAY NOT TO

What can students who want to study overseas do?

1. Ask. The first and best place to start searching for aid information is your college.

2. Search. Students also can check out a few websites that compile overseas scholarships.

3. Go American. Instead of enrolling directly in the foreign school, students can enroll in an accredited American school with an approved study-abroad program.

4. Transfer. Overseas students who need access to federal loans can transfer to one of the schools on the approved list.

5. Persuade your school. There are lots of forms to fill out and lots of hoops to jump through, but hundreds of other international schools have done it.

6. Alternative loans. If a student has an adult with good credit willing to take on the debt responsibility, the adult can take a second mortgage or other loan and then have the student agree to pay back that loan through contracts such as those executed by Virgin Money.

And one thing not to do:

1. Avoid charging it. It might be tempting to just charge overseas tuition or living costs to a credit card.

Himalayan pollution 'could impact monsoon cycle

Researchers have shown that pollution from China, India, Nepal and Pakistan can reach altitudes of over 5,000 metres in the Himalayas, contributing to the warming of the atmosphere and potentially affecting the South-East Asian monsoon cycle.
They also found that new aerosol particles ultrafine particles suspended in the atmosphere can form at these heights.
Lead author Hervé Venzac, from the Blaise Pascal University in France, and his team observed that when pollutants such as vehicle fumes transported from the plains of Nepal and other Himalayan countries meet down-sloping cleaner air from the troposphere the lowest portion of the Earth's atmosphere aerosol particles are formed.
Discussing the implications of the study, co-author Paolo Laj, at the Joseph Fourier University, France, told SciDev.Net, "Aerosol particles emitted by burning processes absorb sunlight, causing warming of the lower atmosphere and thus contributing to global temperature rise to the same extent as major greenhouse gases."
This atmospheric warming can have a significant effect on the South-East Asian monsoon, as the functioning of monsoon cycles relies on temperature regulation and the production of warmth in the atmosphere if atmospheric temperatures rise or fall, these cycles could be significantly impacted.
The team's findings are expected to provide a basis for the understanding of this production of warmth and could also shed light on the melting of glaciers in the region.
"This study is remarkable as it can explain the phenomenon of the melting of glaciers that we have started to observe in the Himalayas," says Ngamindra Dahal, a hydrometeorologist at the National Trust for Nature Conservation, Nepal. The study is the first long-term data analysis of aerosol formation at high altitudes. Additionally, it reveals that the frequency of this formation is high similar to that reported in urban environments.Though further study is necessary to find out what could be the exact source of the up-sloping pollutants, this research clearly shows how pollution can affect particle formation at high altitudes.for my opinion this crisis should be overcome faster,if that, the big disaster wil actact us without blessing. As a rational peole we should avoid to do the such thing.

Be cool, but not coy

To choose a person be your whole life partner, you must knowing him very well before do any decision.May the person you interested is married or unavailable,or he is just playing around with you.Having feelings for someone could have sounded the alarms for him so he's taken to playing hot and cold.Do not rush, love needs time to prove. The most important is be yourself and check him out,but do not play coy or hard to get.

If you look around you these day, you will notice that many children are overweight. Is this the price we have to pay as we move towards a developed nation status? Why is obesity becoming more common among children these days? A lack of interest in sports, addiction to the television and computer and unhealty eating habits are the major reasons why more and more children are obese these days.

Obesity among children can be prevented by encouraging and motivating them to participate in outdoor activities, restricting the number of hours spent in front of the tv and computer and changing their dietary habits. If these solutions are not taken seriously, then it is likely that we will have a nation of obese and unhealthy adults in twenty year's time.

I'm saying this without any hesitation;

-Gone Baby Gone is the most enjoyable film I've ever watch

-Ben Affleck(the director) is forgiven for Gigli

This is a great story about a private investogator(Casey Affleck) who try to find a missing girl who mom is a drug dealer. A lot of twists and turns involved. At the very end, we were left out with a question is he made the correct decision? Which is to do? The right thing or the good thing?

In Malaysia, which is a country with different races, cultures and religions.Understanding each other is very important to avoid any sensitive issue. So,parents play a significant role to give positive education to their children, because children learn to accept people who are different who are different from them.Parents can introduce different culture to them about food and traditions of that culture.Let children attend the festivals celebrated by the other communities. This might let them learn more about other cultures and be more tolerant of the differences in other people.Hope these suggestion will help to increase spirit of unity in Malaysia.

A 6-year-old boy kidnapped from a Las Vegas home by alleged drug dealers posing as policemen has been found alive in a neighborhood northeast of the Las Vegas Strip, police said early Sunday.

The child was in extremely good condition and had been taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas for examination. The child was kidnapped at gunpoint by men who tied up the boy's mother and her boyfriend and ransacked their home.

I'm greatful the child is safe and sound. He can return to home safely and back to his anxious parents and gain a good big cossy hug. Parents do need to watch out for their children as nowadays criminals are aggressive enough to do ANYTHING.

Taliban militants stopped a bus traveling on Afghanistan's main highway through a wild and dangerous part of the country's south, captured some 50 people on board and slaughtered around 30 of them, officials said Sunday.

A Taliban spokesman said the militia's fighters carried out the attack but that the insurgents killed 27 Afghan army soldiers riding on the bus.

What for they kill the 27 soldiers? They have family members, friends and relatives waiting them to go home safely. They should be so cruel and mean. The 27 lives did nothing wrong and they were innocent. They shouldn't just end their lives like that. They're mean.

The good, the bad and the ugly

Do not judge a book by its cover. Some might be do that but some are not. This is a very important process for girl to search for their man, same thing to men to search for their dream girl.Like the writer said, she met a man who is accustomed, from a young age, to having the opposite sex swooning over them. But some ugly men are a joy to have around, because they are so grateful.Fate will bring lovers be together. If he/she is not yours, then will not.

New parking plan for Selangor

I had been to Selangor before, and I was surprised that those drivers were creative car parkers. When they could not find any parking place, they would just park their cars behind the cars which already park in parking place, made a double park, and sometime triple park.Maybe the parking system and places before was not adequate for cars. So,I hope that through this new parking system will reduce or eliminate the problem to avoid traffic jam.

Richest man in Russia 'is suing Vladimir Romanov'

« Previous « PreviousNext » Next »View GalleryPublished Date: 20 October 2008
HEARTS owner Vladimir Romanov is reportedly being sued by Russia's richest man over an alleged £7 million fraud.

Oleg Deripaska, a metals tycoon who is worth £17 billion, claims that one of his firms was cheated out of the cash by Romanov and son Roman.

Deripaska's lawyers have taken the case to the US courts, claiming that Romanov, in his role as the owner of an aluminium ore plant in Bosnia, agreed three deals with one of his firms.

The Russian businessman claims that Romanov failed to deliver on the deals before declaring that the contracts belonged to an American company he had nothing to do with.

Deripaska has been chasing the money he says is owned by Romanov for the past four years.

Deripaska, 40, sued the Romanovs in Milwaukee, claiming after talks with Romanov in Lithuania, they agreed to buy ore from his Bosnia refinery, pay for repairs to it and provide a loan.

Light pollution in the broad sense refers to any nighttime artificial light that shines where it's not needed. This nocturnal brightness can disorient humans and a host of other animals, confounding eyes and biological rhythms that evolved in a world without such light.

One way stray rays pollute is sky glow, the scattering of light by clouds and atmospheric particles that makes it difficult to see stars and other features of the night sky—an increasing problem. These maps show the global extent of sky glow. More than just snapshots of the Earth at night, they account for the light-scattering effects of clouds and dust, and show how bright the sky is above a given point on the ground—revealing that most of the world's population lives under night skies fuzzy with the haze of reflected light.

Sky glow doesn't stop at city limits or even international borders. But a close look at this upward escaping luminosity can reveal cultural clues about the polluters. This video, which shows the view from the International Space Station, provides a tour of the light we send spaceward—and of the striking social and geographical signatures it carries with it, from the incandescent spiderwebs emanating from European cities to the rigid grids illuminating the western United States to the pinpoints sprinkled around the remote corners of Australia.

The route over Misery Pass is invisible unless you know exactly what to look for. There are no roads here at the headwaters of the Gataga River in British Columbia's northern Rockies, only animal trails, and that's the way Wayne Sawchuk likes it. "There should be one place in the world where you have to find your own trail," he says. "All it takes is a little guts."

The shale beneath our feet is slick with rain and offers about as much traction as a pile of broken china. It shatters under the weight of the horses' hooves as they slip and grind, sending shards clattering into the gorge. A thousand feet below is the tree line, and a thousand feet above is the pass, threading its way between a pair of hulking 9,000-footers. In every direction glaciers loom, strangely luminous beneath a heavy gray sky.
There are six of us and thirteen horses. But no one is riding because the trail is simply too steep—at times pushing 50 degrees. We lead our mounts by their reins knowing that if one of them loses its footing there is no way we'll be able to stop it from tumbling into the boulder-filled cataract that plummets headlong to the valley floor. But it's either get over the pass or take a hundred-mile detour.

Two weeks earlier, Sawchuk nearly lost Leo, a young packhorse, while crossing a river near here. It wasn't the current that almost took the horse under; it was the glacial cold. It took five people—who nearly froze themselves as well—to man-haul the horse up the riverbank, and half an hour to thaw him out (and that was in July). It's a common hazard in this country, where you can make a dozen river crossings a day.

By the time we reach the saddle of Misery Pass, it is hard to tell who's blowing harder, the humans or the horses. We catch our breath in a wind-scoured trough dotted with shallow blue tarns and little else. The season's last lupines and moss campions are putting on a brave display. Symmetrical depressions in the lichen-speckled scree look like graves, but they're not; they're sheep beds, and they could be a thousand years old. Midway across the pass we come upon the first significant evidence of human presence we've seen in days: a plane crash. Nothing is left from the belongings of the occupants now but four pairs of sneakers, each shoe still neatly tied. "That plane didn't leave a mark on the rock," Sawchuk murmurs, his words practically sucked from his mouth by the wind. "The mountain is implacable."

This is the Rocky Mountain divide, two degrees south of the 60th parallel and, just like the people in that plane, all we want to do is get across. We don't know yet that the way down is almost as steep, which means we'll still have to lead our thousand-pound horses, only this time they'll roll right over us if their hooves fail to hold. This, I realize, is the price of admission into Sawchuk's world.

Whipcord thin, with fingers that seem to have the consistency of cold chisels, Sawchuk has been exploring this country for more than 20 years, winter and summer, and, like few others alive, knows what it takes to survive here. On the left side of his saddle he carries a cruising ax in a scabbard. Slung off the right side is a lever- action Browning .308 (no one, it seems, travels in here unarmed). A small chain saw rides atop one of the packhorses. Sawchuk carries a set of farrier's tools, two full sets of rain gear, spare horseshoes in four sizes, duct tape, copper rivets, buckles and leather for harness repair, and a miniature anvil

When it comes to ocean predators, it's easy to underestimate the southern elephant seal. It doesn't have the lordly bearing of the sperm whale or the fighter-jet sleekness of the white shark or the stellar IQ of the orca. Unlike the giant squid or the leopard seal, it lacks an aura of mystery and menace. And who came up with its physique—Dr. Seuss? That would explain the nose, a preposterous trunk that can grow one-and-a-half feet long, earning the elephant seal its name. To judge by appearance, this is one misfit beast. Car-size and blimp-shaped, on land the southern elephant seal (Mirounga Leonine) is usually found lolling around on the beach. But as with other sea creatures, the truth lies below the surface. Sure, it's no supermodel, but underneath the blubbery disguise the elephant seal turns out to be a superhero, its life a series of magnificent feats.

To see where the action takes place, run your finger down a map of South America until you hit Tierra del Fuego and then veer sharply east. Nine hundred miles past the Falklands you'll find South Georgia Island, a hundred-mile-long silhouette of jagged, ice-capped peaks that juts out of what some call the Southern Ocean, the vast belt of water surrounding Antarctica. It's a harsh destination for humans, accessible only by a white-knuckle boat trip that can last five days in South Atlantic gales. But for the seals, which spend 80 percent of their time hunting in these waters, South Georgia is an ideal gathering spot. Come mating season, some 400,000 southern elephant seals will line its shores.

They must have known the odds were against them. Before the English sailed to Virginia in the early 1600s, every previous European attempt to colonize the coast between Nova Scotia and Florida met with disaster. And yet the Virginia Company's London investors found thousands willing to take the chance. As they packed their bags, the colonists imagined long lives ahead of them in a comfortable and prosperous colony: Gentlemen tucked pewter flagons into their sea chests, along with irons for pressing ruffles into their collars. Maids filled trunks with petticoats and sheets. One colonist brought a set of porcelain cups, another a miniature windmill for diversion. Their ships were filled with crates of hoes and axes, boxes of muskets and armor, and equipment for turning a profit: jars to collect medicinal plants, crucibles for manufacturing glass, and stills to refine that most sought after discovery—gold.

It didn't take long for the settlers' early dreams to evaporate. One after another, business schemes failed, and those who had envisioned riches turned to praying for survival. Many colonists perished within months of stepping ashore. Three out of four who came to Jamestown between 1607 and 1624 died from disease, hunger, and conflict with the Indians.

Until recently, their tales were told only through written accounts of a literate few. Since 1994, Historic Jamestowne archaeologists led by William Kelso have dug up a fuller story: a million artifacts that reveal in minute detail the lives and deaths of settlers, both elite and ordinary, as they struggled to establish a colony that would become the first permanent English settlement in North America—and the birthplace of the United States.

"It's like finding a lost letter from the past," says curator Bly Straube. Little by little, the things the colonists brought with them across the Atlantic joined their bodies in Virginia's strange soil, buried testaments to the hope with which they embarked on an all too perilous journey.

On October 13, 2000, a small team of paleontologists led by Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago clambered out of three battered Land Rovers, filled their water bottles, and scattered on foot across the toffee-colored sands of the Ténéré desert in northern Niger. The Ténéré, on the southern flank of the Sahara, easily ranks among the most desolate landscapes on Earth. The Tuareg, turbaned nomads who for centuries have ruled this barren realm, refer to it as a "desert within a desert"—a California-size ocean of sand and rock, where a single massive dune might stretch a hundred miles, and the combination of 120-degree heat and inexorable winds can wick the water from a human body in less than a day. The harsh conditions, combined with intermittent conflict between the Tuareg and the Niger government, have kept the region largely unexplored.

Sereno, a National Geographic Society explorer-in-residence and one of the world's most prolific dinosaur hunters, had led his first expedition into the Ténéré five years earlier, after negotiating agreements with both the leader of a Tuareg rebel force and the Niger Ministry of Defense, allowing him safe passage to explore its fossil-rich deposits. That initial foray was followed by others, and each time his team emerged from the desert with the remains of exotic species, including Nigersaurus, a 500-toothed plant-eating dinosaur, and Sarcosuchus, an extinct crocodilian the size of a city bus. The 2000 expedition, however, was his most ambitious—three months scouring a 300-mile arc of the Ténéré, ending near Agadez, a medieval caravan town on the western lip of the desert. Already, his team members had excavated 20 tons of dinosaur bones and other prehistoric animals. But six weeks of hard labor in this brutal environment had worn them down. Most had mild cases of dysentery; several had lost so much weight they had to hitch up their trousers as they trudged over the soft sand; and everyone's nerves had been on edge since an encounter with armed bandits.

Mike Hettwer, a photographer accompanying the team, headed off by himself toward a trio of small dunes. He crested the first slope and stared in amazement. The dunes were spilling over with bones. He took a few shots with his digital camera and hurried back to the Land Rovers.

"I found some bones," Hettwer said, when the team had regrouped. "But they're not dinosaurs. They're human."

On a warm September day, farmers from all over the state gather around the enormous machines. Combines, balers, rippers, cultivators, diskers, tractors of every variety—all can be found at the annual Wisconsin Farm Technology Days show. But the stars of the show are the great harvesters, looming over the crowd. They have names like hot rods—the Claas Jaguar 970, the Krone BiG X 1000—and are painted with colors bright as fireworks. The machines weigh 15 tons apiece and have tires tall as a tall man. When I visited Wisconsin Farm Technology Days last year, John Deere was letting visitors test its 8530 tractor, an electromechanical marvel so sophisticated that I had no idea how to operate it. Not to worry: The tractor drove itself, navigating by satellite. I sat high and happy in the air-conditioned bridge, while beneath my feet vast wheels rolled over the earth.

The farmers grin as they watch the machines thunder through the cornfields. In the long run, though, they may be destroying their livelihoods. Midwestern topsoil, some of the finest cropland in the world, is made up of loose, heterogeneous clumps with plenty of air pockets between them. Big, heavy machines like the harvesters mash wet soil into an undifferentiated, nigh impenetrable slab—a process called compaction. Roots can't penetrate compacted ground; water can't drain into the earth and instead runs off, causing erosion. And because compaction can occur deep in the ground, it can take decades to reverse. Farm-equipment companies, aware of the problem, put huge tires on their machines to spread out the impact. And farmers are using satellite navigation to confine vehicles to specific paths, leaving the rest of the soil untouched. Nonetheless, this kind of compaction remains a serious issue—at least in nations where farmers can afford $400,000 harvesters.

Unfortunately, compaction is just one, relatively small piece in a mosaic of interrelated problems afflicting soils all over the planet. In the developing world, far more arable land is being lost to human-induced erosion and desertification, directly affecting the lives of 250 million people. In the first—and still the most comprehensive—study of global soil misuse, scientists at the International Soil Reference and Information Centre (ISRIC) in the Netherlands estimated in 1991 that humankind has degraded more than 7.5 million square miles of land. Our species, in other words, is rapidly trashing an area the size of the United States and Canada combined.

A GIANT JELLYFISH
Are aliens attacking the Sea of Japan? Not exactly. But these gigantic blobs are unwelcome visitors from another place. Called Nomura's jellyfish, the wiggly, pinkish giants can weigh up to 450 pounds (204 kilograms)—as heavy as a male lion—and they're swarming by the millions.

The supersize sea creatures—normally found off the coasts of China and North and South Korea—occasionally drift east into the Sea of Japan to feed on tiny organisms called plankton. But now one hundred times the usual number of jellyfish are invading Japanese waters. And local fishermen are feeling as if they are under siege.

The fishermen's nets are getting weighted down, or even broken, by hundreds of Nomura's. The jellies crush, slime, and poison valuable fish in the nets, such as the tuna and salmon that the fishermen rely on to make a living.

No one knows for sure what's causing this jellyfish traffic jam. It's possible that oceans heated by global warming are creating the perfect jellyfish breeding ground. Another theory is that overfishing has decreased the numbers of some fish, which may allow the jellies to chow down without competition for food. For now, all the fishermen can do is design special nets to try to keep the jellies out. Some of them hope to turn the catastrophe into cash by selling jellyfish snacks. Peanut butter and jellyfish, anyone?

Fast Facts

* Baby Nomura's jellyfish change from the size of a grain of rice to the size of a washing machine in six months or less.
* Jellyfish are 95% water.
* Jellyfish aren't actually fish, they're invertebrates—animals without backbones.

Mystery of the Tattooed Mummy

Deep inside an ancient pyramid in Peru, a mummy lay hidden in a gold-filled tomb. The underground chamber remained a secret for nearly 1,600 years, until an archaeologist noticed rectangular patches of soft clay in the pyramid's floor—a telltale sign of a grave. His heartbeat quickened. He suspected that someone powerful would be buried here.

The archaeologist was standing in a sacred location, a courtyard near the peak of the biggest pyramid at El Brujo—a ceremonial site of the ancient Moche (MO-chay) people. The civilization's rulers, who controlled the north coast of Peru from A.D. 100 to 800, probably reserved this spot for a king or a great warrior. What valuable treasures would lie inside this leader's tomb?

The Mummy Unwrapped

Finally, after weeks of careful digging, the scientists peered through the ancient dust. In front of them lay one of the world's largest and best-preserved mummies. As they unwrapped the bundled layers, hundreds of treasures were revealed, including gold nose rings and necklaces, sparkling crowns, and huge war clubs usually reserved for the Moche's greatest warriors.

But when archaeologists lifted a gold bowl covering the mummy's face, they found the biggest surprise yet. The mummy wasn't a king or a male warrior; it was a young Moche woman—and she was covered in mysterious tattoos!

Amazing Bats of Bracken Cave
The sun is setting on a summer night. At the entrance to a deep, dark cave, a few bats fly out and begin swirling high up into the air. More and more of the small, furry creatures appear.

Within a few minutes, a whole river of bats is pouring out of the cave, and they keep coming, millions and millions of them.

Sound like a scary horror movie? Believe it or not, this scene takes place every night, all summer long, at Bracken Cave in Texas, where 20 million bats zoom outside to feed on insects. “It is magical,” says Jim Kennedy of Bat Conservation International in Austin Texas. “It is one of the most majestic animal movements on the planet.”

A group of bats is called a colony. Every March or April, Mexican Free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis) migrate up to 1,000 miles (1609 kilometers) from their winter home in Mexico to this cave, where they raise their young. Soon after they arrive, each mother gives birth to one pup. As many as 500 baby bats live crammed into one square foot (30.48 cubic centimeters) of space, and all those bodies create nice warm temperatures to keep them cozy and comfortable.

If you’ve ever lost sight of your parents on a crowded playground, you may be wondering how mother bats recognize their offspring. They use their sense of smell to tell which pup is theirs when it is time for the babies to nurse.

The cave, a quiet place in winter, teems with life all summer—and not just with bat residents. Bat poop, called guano, soon covers the floor, providing food for tiny organisms like bacteria and fungi. And then there are the bugs, says Kennedy: “You walk in with your headlight on your helmet on, and the floor of the cave is seething with bugs. Gnats are flying around, and beetles are crawling up your leg!”

When the adult bats leave the cave at night to feed, they are helping humans. They eat tons of insects in a single night, including many pests that eat farmer’s crops. And they get rid of mosquitoes, too.

When twenty million bats fly out of one cave opening, they make a column so thick that they show up on radar at the nearby airport. It can take three hours for all of them to emerge. “You can feel the breeze from their wings, and see the vegetation rustle,” says Kennedy. “The flap of all those wings makes a very relaxing soft sound. I’ve always thought it would make a great tape to help you go to sleep.”

So much for bats being scary!

Chomp! Meat-Eating Plants

"I want people to get passionate about plants," says Lisa Van Cleef about a new exhibit at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers. "Everybody gets excited about the zoo and animals, but once you start looking at plants you find they have a lot going on, too!"

Especially the carnivores, or meat eaters, that use the sneakiest of tricks to trap their insect dinners. Take bladderworts, for example. They appear so small and delicate growing in a quiet pond. But these are the fastest-known killers of the plant kingdom, able to suck in unsuspecting mosquito larvae in 1/50 of a second using a trap door!

Once the trap door closes on the victim, digestive enzymes similar to those in the human stomach slowly consume the insect. When dinner is over, the plant ejects the remains and is ready to trap again.

Ten Freaky Forces of Nature

Nature can be unbelievably powerful. A major earthquake can topple huge buildings and bring down entire mountainsides. At Niagara Falls, more than 500,000 gallons (1,892,705 liters) of water crash down 18 stories into the Niagara River every second—enough to fill nearly 50 Olympic-size swimming pools in a minute! And everyone knows about hurricanes, blizzards, avalanches, forest fires, floods, tidal waves, and even thunderstorms. But if you thought Mother Nature didn't have many surprises up her sleeve, think again. Nature has a load of other powers that, while less well-known, can only be described as, well, freaky.

The Mother of All Tornadoes

The fastest wind speed ever recorded—318 miles an hour (511 kilometers an hour)—occurred during a tornado near Oklahoma City in 1999. Scientists classify tornadoes by the damage they can do. A tornado with wind speeds of 70 miles an hour can sweep away entire houses and hurl cars through the air like missiles. But a tornado with wind speeds of more than 300 miles an hour has the power to derail train cars, tear grass from the ground, and even rip pavement from the street.

Dodge Balls

About 1,000 years ago hundreds of people were mysteriously killed in the Himalaya. A recent investigation concluded that they were caught in a hailstorm that dropped chunks of ice the size of baseballs on the victims' heads at more than 100 miles an hour (160 kilometers an hour). Hail is formed in storms when raindrops are carried into extremely cold areas of the atmosphere by powerful vertical winds. The longer the tiny specks of ice bounce around in the wind, the bigger they become. When the clumps of ice grow too big for the wind to hold up, they fall to the ground as hail.

Green Invaders

Green invaders are taking over America. Nope, not invaders from space. Plants. You might not think of plants as dangerous, but in this case they are threatening nature's delicate food web.

The invaders are plants from other countries brought here to make gardens and yards look pretty. Ever since people started to arrive on America's shores, they've carried along trees, flowers, and vegetables from other places.

Now there are so many of those plants, they are crowding out the native plants that have lived here since before human settlers arrived.

And that's a problem, says Dr. Doug Tallamy. He's an entomologist (an insect expert) at the University of Delaware. He explains that almost all the plant-eating insects in the United States—90% of them—are specialized. That means they eat only certain plants.

Pretty orange and black monarch butterflies, for example, can only dine on one plant: milkweed. If people cut down milkweed and replace it with something else, the butterflies starve, because their bodies cannot accept any other food.

But the trouble doesn't stop there, it goes right across the food web. When insects can't get the right plants to eat and they die off, then the birds don't have enough bugs for their meals. Tallamy points out that almost all migrating birds depend on insects to feed their young.

Tiny Beetle With Big Appetite Kills Canadian Trees
An explosion in the mountain pine beetle population means these tiny insects are invading many more trees than usual, and that’s killing forests.

Winter is coming, and in the western Canadian province of British Columbia that means that hungry larvae, or immature beetles, are busily feasting. In recent years, the larvae of the mountain pine beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae) have chomped their way through huge forests, killing a third of the oldest trees in British Columbia.

The current population hatched beneath the bark of pine trees from eggs laid in early summer, and must now eat constantly to grow into adulthood.

“We’ve lost the equivalent of 11 million logging trucks worth,” says Rodney DeBoice, coordinator of beetle control efforts for the province.

DeBoice says one reason so many trees are dying is that the beetles find it easier to chew into older trees—and more trees are living longer thanks to modern fire prevention.

Not only are there more old trees, there are a lot more beetles. A few years ago, colder winters helped control beetle numbers by killing many of them. Warmer winters mean more survivors.

“Temperatures need to stay lower than 40 degrees below zero to put a large dent in the population,” explains DeBoice. So a lot more beetles are surviving—and eating.

The mountain pine beetle finds shelter and food in the pine trees where it spends most of its life. In early summer females no larger than the head of a match lay tiny eggs that develop into larvae in the fall.

The hungry larvae eat away at the tree’s life system through the winter. Once they chew a ring all the way around the tree, water and nutrients can no longer flow throughout the tree and it dies.

Experts say by the year 2013, 80 percent of British Columbia’s mature pines will be dead. DeBoice says that isn’t as bad as it sounds: “Keep in mind, we have a lot more young pine forests growing up than we have old pine trees.”

Fast Facts:

* Pine beetles spend all but a few days of their lives sheltered inside the trunks of pine trees.
* In summer, females come out from under the tree bark where they live. They glide on the wind to a new tree, sometimes as far as 12 miles (20 kilometers) away, where they meet with males and lay their eggs.
* Beetle infestation makes the pine needles turn from green to red to gray as the tree dies.
* The mountain pine beetle lives in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, as well as a dozen states in the United States and in Mexico.

Is Pluto No Longer a Planet?
In the game Pluto's Secret, Nat tells his friend Geo that he heard that Pluto is no longer a planet. Is Nat right? Is Pluto no longer a planet? There's debate in the scientific world. National Geographic News says that, according to the International Astronomical Union, a full-fledged planet is an object that orbits the sun and is large enough to have become round due to the force of its own gravity. Because Pluto doesn't meet these standards, the IAU classifies Pluto as a dwarf planet.

Not everyone agrees that this is a good way to decide, though. Andy Cheng, a planetary scientist at Johns Hopkins University, says that the new rules aren't clear enough and asks the question "how round is round? ...I'll still continue to maintain that Pluto is a planet," he said.

Owen Gingerich is an astronomer and historian at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and head of the IAU committee proposing the definition. He favored a special distinction for Pluto. Gingerich supported a proposal to call the big eight planets classical planets—as opposed to just plain "planets"—and Pluto and the others dwarf planets, so there would be two classes of planets. He believes that reclassifying Pluto as a dwarf planet is not "sensitive to the historical and cultural role that Pluto has played."

The argument continues. In the meantime, however, Nat and Geo are correct—new textbooks will list Pluto as being a dwarf planet.

The promise of "undiscovered Hawaii" has, since the building boom of the 1960s and '70s, been as elusive as a fashionable Hawaiian shirt. But next year Sierra Club Outings will introduce a lucky few to the real thing: Kaho'olawe, an uninhabited volcanic islet seven miles (11 kilometers) southwest of Maui. A United States Navy bombing target dating back to World War II, Kaho'olawe was returned to the locals only in the 1990s and is still closed to the public. Its caretaker, the Kaho'olawe Island Reserve Commission (KIRC), has been charged with restoring the island culturally (rebuilding a series of rain koa shrines) and environmentally (planting native species to establish a Hawaiian dryland forest). As a Sierra Club voluntourist, you'll spend your days alongside KIRC members, planting indigenous species to stem erosion, and your nights in a bayside Quonset hut with views of islands adrift in the cobalt seas. "You see vast fields of volcanic dirt," says trip leader Jill McIntire. "And that's why we're there: to restore vegetation and make a lasting impact on this big red island." The bonus to your effort: a weeklong window into a paradise that few will ever see. Kaho'olawe, a 12,800-acre (5,180-hectare) refuge, is the only major island in the Pacific that archaeologists have surveyed from coast to coast, with an inventory of nearly 3,000 historic sites. You'll be schooled in native customs and Hawaii's early history, including a lesson on navigating by a Polynesian star circle, a traditional astronomy chart laid out in rocks and conch shells. Back at base camp you can explore a private beach and the waters offshore. "Marine life uses the island as a breeding ground," says McIntire. "We've got a resident pod of spinner dolphins that we watch return home each night." For a taste of modern Hawaii after living with the ancients, you'll head back to Maui for three days of snorkeling and well-deserved R&R.

Go Luxe
This year the Nature Conservancy has partnered with outfitter Abercrombie & Kent to lead visitors to Earth's most endangered landscapes. First stop in 2008: Alaska. "With shifting seasons and thinner ice, both wildlife and native people face uncertain futures," says Sarah Leonard, associate director of philanthropy of the Nature Conservancy's Alaska branch. "Guests see firsthand how the conservancy is studying the susceptibility and adaptability of key species and identifying solutions that may offer them—and, ultimately, native Alaskan people—hope for long-term survival." Tripgoers travel in the intimate Abercrombie & Kent way: private flights across Cook Inlet and luxury lodges in secluded locations on Prince of Wales Island and Redoubt Bay, a prime location for bear-watching and a critical habitat area for resident and migratory birds. Guided kayak and hiking trips are accompanied by Nature Conservancy staffers, who muse on the complicated task of preserving some of the country's last true wilderness. The trip's signature day starts with an expedition into the Matanuska-Susitna Valley's dazzling range of icy lakes, salmon-filled rivers, wetlands, tundra, boreal forest, and mountains, and ends with a bush-flight landing on one of three glaciers. In the evening guests dine with the Nature Conservancy's Alaska program leaders on a menu befitting the top-rated luxury outfitter (pan-seared sea scallops) and discuss how melting sea ice and eroding coastlines are affecting Alaska's communities. Seven percent of your trip costs go directly to on-the-ground conservation in Alaska.

New Zealand: Lodge to Lodge in Middle Earth
Go Active
At the top of New Zealand's South Island, the Queen Charlotte Track winds 44 miles (71 kilometers) through quintessential Kiwi country: secluded beaches speckled with tiny blue penguins, rocky waterfalls hidden behind thick rain forest canopies, and native bushland occupied by foraging wild pigs (descendants of those released by Captain James Cook). In 1770 Cook sailed into Ship Cove, the beginning of the Queen Charlotte Track. Today you can hike the trail in boutique comfort with Wilderness Guides, whose new multiday trek through Marlborough Sounds treats small groups (eight people or less) to private stays in upscale inns. Co-owner Juliet Gibbons, a native of the Sounds, has scouted all lodges and, at day's end, expertly prepares local fare—blue cod, Marlborough mussels, wild salmon, and New Zealand lamb. On day one you'll hike nine miles (14 kilometers) to the just completed No Road Inn, accessible by boat and set on the only private land on Endeavour Inlet. You'll traverse the coast and climb to ridgeline panoramas over Kenepuru and Queen Charlotte Sounds, drinking in views of sunken river valleys, curving bays, and offshore islands. You'll also get your share of bird life, including fantails, bellbirds, and vividly colored kakarikis (New Zealand parrots). At Lochmara Lodge Eco Retreat, set on a bay of the same name, you'll learn about kakariki conservation—over a glass of local Pinot Noir.

Oceania: The Oceania Full Monty
Go Wild
The macro display of attractions in Micronesia and Melanesia has baffled outfitters and tourists trying to see it all. Until now. Zegrahm & Eco Expeditions' exclusive new itinerary hits the water world's full range of options in the Western South Pacific. Traveling from Papua New Guinea, the Clipper Odyssey—a 110-passenger ship ideal for small-scale exploration—sails the rugged tropical coastlines of Palau and the Yap Islands, where locals voyage between atolls in outrigger canoes, steering by the sun and stars. "Yap's traditional villages are reached only by the sea and remain nearly untouched by tourism," says Casey Marker, marketing director for Zegrahm & Eco Expeditions. In the equatorial seas, divers cruise 80-degree (27-degree Celsius) waters in the company of blue-banded surgeonfish, butterflyfish, and squaretail mullet. Underwater grottoes filled with grouper await snorkelers in the Marshall Bennetts. Five years ago the outfitter made the first ever visit by an international passenger vessel to the Tsoi Islands; next year islanders welcome guests back with performances by the village choir. While there, seek out the megapode, a distinct—and threatened—Australasian ground bird, which piles earth a foot high to incubate its eggs. The Clipper Odyssey's final ports of call include coral atolls surrounded by bottlenose dolphins, islets inhabited by sea turtles, and Koror, the capital of Palau. From there you can hike through pristine forest to snorkel in Jellyfish Lake, where, happily, the massive jellyfish have evolved through biological isolation to nonstinging status.

The lure of life as a Pacific islander is as timeworn as it is elusive (umbrellaed rum drinks and a Bob Marley soundtrack do not qualify). Enter Earthwatch Institute, our third highest rated outfitter overall, whose new archaeological expedition to the Fijian island of Viti Levu takes immersion travel to the extreme. On Rove Peninsula, fringed by a mangrove forest on one side and blooming coral reefs on the other, Bourewa Beach is the site of the earliest human settlement in Fiji. Working with a team of researchers and local university students, you'll excavate sites for provocative evidence of prehistoric life, including greenstone tools and intricately carved pottery. "So little is known about the Lapita people—the archaeologists are in the very early stages of their research—that you actually have an amazing chance of discovering something new and exciting in the field," says Earthwatch program manager Kimberly Ciano. While working the site you'll stay with villagers (a dose of Fijian hospitality isn't complete without a calming bowl of evening kava). After a turn as Indiana Jones, follow your new friends to the best snorkeling spots or on an exploration of paradise on horseback.

Switzerland: Haute Glaciology
Go Green
A newly expanded UNESCO World Heritage site, the Swiss Alps's Aletsch Glacier is the largest ice field in Europe and a barometer for glacial retreat throughout the world. On Mountain Travel Sobek's first ever glacier-focused trip, you'll get a rare chance to strap on crampons, cross the high ice field, and witness the impressive uplift and compression that formed this striking natural treasure. Starting in the small village of Ulrichen, mountain guide Cain Olsen—who calls Valcamonica in the Italian Alps his home—leads a strenuous eight-day trek over the region's glistening ice and sheer passes carved by glacial movement. To acclimatize on the first day of trekking, hikers take a mellow climb to 7,680 feet (2,341 meters) to look out over the Rhône Glacier, the source of the historic river of the same name. The next few days are spent traversing rock and ice on winding trails with views of the southern range of the Alps and iconic peaks like the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc; at night, guests bed down in Alpine huts and mountain lodges. Elevation tops out just shy of 11,000 feet (3,353 meters) on the climb to the Oberaarjoch Hut, which offers a terrific panorama of the dark, shark-fin peak of Finsteraarhorn (at 14,002 feet [4,268 meters], the highest mountain in the Bernese Alps). The journey culminates with a crossing of the Aletsch Glacier, surrounded by a rugged amphitheater of 13,000-foot (3,962-meter) peaks, U-shaped valleys, cirques, and glacial moraines. According to Sobek program director Anne Wood, guests will return "in awe of the magnificent beauty of these giant fields of ice" and ready to take action to slow a changing climate that could possibly eliminate the Aletsch by the end of this century.

Myanmar: A Nation Preserved in Amber
Go Active
Known as Burma before a long-standing military junta came to power in 1989, Myanmar is a country stuck in the moment: a pagoda-dotted landscape peopled with Buddhist monks clad in lungis (robes) and covered in thanaka paste to protect their skin from the sun. Myanmar has opened and closed its doors to international travelers for the past two decades, so tourism—one of the few businesses from which locals can profit—is limited. With its 2008 trip, Country Walkers is the sole operator offering a trekking-only itinerary exclusively within the state. Traveling with care, says guide Rachel Baker, helps ensure that your dollars benefit the local people, not the regime. A top-rated trekking outfitter, Country Walkers arranges trip logistics through privately owned local hotels, restaurants, and transportation companies. The ten-day trip includes stops in remote villages and monasteries reachable only by foot, enlisting local guides from Yangon (Rangoon) to facilitate visits to areas that are otherwise inaccessible. You'll be invited into villagers' homes to participate in Buddhist rituals, share a cup of tea or a meal, and try your hand at weaving or carving. Some parts of the country have only recently been opened to tourists, including the high hills and jungles surrounding Inle Lake, where fishermen work the tranquil, glassy waters. You'll travel by flat-bottom fishing boats to floating gardens and lakeside inns, and climb to ancient monasteries and empty temple ruins.

Mali: Time for Timbuktu
Go Luxe
Mali is this year's Mozambique, an underappreciated African nation deemed ready—and ridiculously cool—by the travel vanguard. The landlocked Saharan state sits at an ancient crossroads, producing a startling mix of North and West Africa in music and architecture. Absolute Travel's newly developed trip launches this winter. Its focus: customization. The outfitter can arrange a concert and personal meeting with singer Oumou Sangare, the "songbird of Wassoulou," or a private viewing of Timbuktu's famous gold-scripted ancient Arabic texts. You'll trek through villages and famous markets and see nomadic Tuareg—the "blue men of the desert"—dressed in indigo robes and turbans leading camel caravans. In Le Ndomo, an artisan center that specializes in bogolan, a cloth dyed with river mud and plant extracts, craftsmen show you how to make your own piece of mud cloth to take home. In Bandiagara, treks along fantastic sandstone escarpments reveal the elaborate rock art of Mali's Dogon people; the villagers themselves will perform a traditional Dogon mask dance in your honor. At the trip's final stop in Timbuktu, the city's history as a flourishing Islamic center is evident in the ancient texts housed in the archives and the great 13th-century Djingareyber mosque.

A proper walking tour is coming to South Africa. In March the Wayfarers—our top-ten hiking outfitter—launches its first foray into the bush, combining the British company's boots-on-the-ground credo (safari treks, dinners with locals) and its well-honed sense of civility (stays in historic manors, winery tours). "I don't think anyone else does what we're doing: a very personalized trip with lots of local insight," says owner Malle Hague, who was born in Botswana and educated in South Africa. The expansive itinerary begins with exploratory hikes in the lush nature preserves of Cape Town's famous Table Mountain, with panoramas of the city. A morning visit to a Cape township opens a window to local life, and ranger-led treks through Bushman's Kloof Wilderness Reserve—a South African Natural Heritage site with open-air galleries of remarkably preserved rock art—give expert context to prehistoric paintings and engravings. From there travelers hike the Cederberg Mountains and the plains of the Great Karoo, visit exclusive wineries in Franschhoek, and fly via private charter to Madikwe Game Reserve, a 290-square-mile (751-square-kilometer) Big Five park bordering Botswana.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Go From Street to Summit
The best place to witness the new Pittsburgh is from atop Mount Washington, the 1,250-foot (381-meter) hill that rises over the Ohio River. From there you can view the once soot-choked skyline—now a well-arranged collection of modern high-rises and repurposed early-1900s factory buildings. What's most surprising? It's beautiful. Thanks to a 15-year urban renewal program, the city has been revived, morphing from a stronghold of industry into a place that better reflects the surrounding Allegheny Mountains.

This sort of integration into the natural setting is precisely what makes a top-notch adventure city, and, in achieving it, Pittsburgh has become a place where residents can be serious both about their careers and their outdoors. The same shift away from heavy industry that beautified the skyline has also reordered the economy: Over the past decade, hundreds of technology companies of all sizes have set up shop in the Steel City. Still, relocators can take advantage of home prices that remain well below the national average and renovation opportunities in the increasingly trendy downtown zones, such as the artist-filled Oakland neighborhood.

Another sign of Pittsburgh's metamorphosis is that the city's outdoors community now has a central clearinghouse: Venture Outdoors (www.ventureoutdoors.org), a nonprofit that promotes recreation within city limits. St. Johnsbury, Vermont: Simplify your life

To take the Kingdom Trails, a hundred miles (161 kilometers) of pathways tracing the hillsides near St. Johnsbury, is to be swept up in the kind of neighborly idealism that makes small-town living so attractive. The trails—available for hiking and mountain biking in summer and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter—are a coordinated series of old carriage roads and footpaths that cross 42 separate parcels of private land. "There's nothing else like it," says Kingdom Trails executive director Tim Tierney. "The trails are part of a tradition of community recreation. They're built and maintained by local volunteers."

This can-do Yankee attitude pervades the whole of Vermont's rural, forested Northeast Kingdom, of which St. Johnsbury is the hub. Three hours north of Boston, "St. J" (as it's known to residents) is an old New England original with late 19th-century Victorian homes, a Main Street, and hardly a drop of sprawl. An active effort is under way to lure newcomers; the entire Northeast Kingdom region has development programs for small-business entrepreneurs—an important part of the local economy. These innovative initiatives, including a tax credit for those who renovate historic homes, offer clues to the type of person who might want to move here: civic-minded, self-motivated, slightly utopian.

No influx of new residents will change the fact that cultural life in St. J is not what you'd find in a big city. But Montreal is a mere two and a half hours north and, chances are, you'll be too busy playing outdoors to miss the nightclubs. There's camping, hiking, and swimming at Stillwater State Park (www.vtstateparks.com); skiing at Burke Mountain (www.skiburke.com); and hiking at Mount Pisgah for expansive foliage views. And when all other options are exhausted, you can always pitch in with some trail maintenance along your adopted stretch of the Kingdom Trails (www.kingdomtrails.org).

Austin, Texas: Satisfy Your Artistic Side
There are possibly better places to do any of the things Austin offers. But if you're hoping to ride singletrack in the morning, eat a Mexico City–grade corn tamale for lunch, and actually go out at night—catch the latest indie flicks and bands at the South by Southwest festival, for example—the Texas capital is unbeatable.

Austin has the rolling hills, clear lakes, and granite ravines to compete with more mountainous towns, but its real draw is its distinctive hipster-meets-cowpoke scene. "There's no place that combines so much culture and so much outdoor activity," says Hill Abell, owner of Austin's Bicycle Sport Shop.

Moving here is a popular thing to do these days—the city is one of the fastest growing in the United States—but so far, Austin isn't crammed or financially out of reach. The cost of living is lower than it is in nearly every other comparably sized metro area in the nation, jobs are plentiful (especially in high tech and education), and homes are affordable. The downside? Surging population. As Austin grows flush with new arrivals, beware of gridlock, sprawl, and vanishing bargains.

Austin doesn't guard its outdoors secrets the same way other locales do. The six-mile Emma Long loop in City Park is a challenging favorite of mountain bikers (www.austinridgeriders.com), and the Austin Rock Gym guides half-day climbs ($150; www.austinrockgym.com) of nearby Reimer's Ranch, the local spot for rock. Outside of town, it's an hour's drive to the Hill Country, where meandering rivers cut through uplifted limestone and where Lance Armstrong trained for his Tour de France wins. The town's best kept secret, though, is a counterintuitive one: During September's Austin City Limits festival (this
year with Ben Harper, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty, and dozens of other acts; www.aclfestival.com), smart concertgoers skip a day of performances to enjoy the empty trails.

Durango, Colorado: Put the Mountains First
For multisport adventurers seeking a home that has it all, Durango feels like the center of everything. Head uphill and you're in the Rockies, hiking, skiing, and ice climbing in legendary alpine terrain. Hit the lowlands and you're in the Southwest, with year-round access to mountain biking, Anasazi ruins, and slot canyons. Hang around town and you'll discover Main Street's Wild West character and a thriving community euphoric about life in America's premier outdoor hub.

Unlike other recreation boomtowns throughout the West (such as Bend and Moab), Durango's population has remained nearly constant since 2000. But that's about to change: This summer, builders broke ground on Three Springs, a 2,300-unit development that could increase Durango's population by a third. The project means more affordable housing in a market brimming with $500,000 homes; it also means even tighter competition for jobs in the service-oriented economy. As Durango grows, the most successful transplants will be those with independent or telecommuting careers.

Plan on becoming proficient at several outdoor activities here. Your options include paddling the canyons of the Animas River with Durango River Trippers ($25 for two hours; www.durangorivertrippers.com) or climbing the East Animas sandstone with SouthWest Adventure Guides ($155 a day; www.mtnguide.net). But the true jewel of Durango is the Colorado Trail (www.coloradotrail.org)—winding and climbing for more than a hundred miles as it travels near town, it's the definition of easy-access backcountry and the reason why you'll never tire of Durango. "There's gonzo downhill and flatter, easier trails," says Patti Zink, a 20-year Durango resident and owner of Durango Mountain Bike Camp (www.bike-camp.com), which offers custom multiday tours. "And you can ride it all from home."

King Kong Discovers His Roots
King Kong is lonely. Andy Serkis knows this for certain. He also knows that the 25-foot (8-meter) gorilla would never beat his chest with closed fists. Or eat a human being whole. The 41-year-old British actor knows this because over the past year he's spent months researching his gargantuan role in Peter Jackson's remake of the 1933 classic, opening December 14. In Rwanda's lush Virunga Mountains and at the London Zoo, Serkis studied mountain gorilla behavior with the goal of bringing to Kong the same lifelike range of emotions and responses he brought to the computer-generated Gollum in Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. This time, however, he not only animates and voices the hirsute title role, but, with the help of 132 CG sensors, controls Kong's facial expressions, too. To get it right, Serkis learned how mountain gorillas walk, communicate, and interact. In an interview, he explains how to become a gorilla himself.

Daily dice with danger for bikers

Although motorcycle lanes are provided in Malaysia but the motorcyclists seem to prefer riding on highways with cars. The reason is the motorcycle lanes is too dark and danger for them. And there's also obstruction on the road which will cause danger for them.

The motorcycle lanes should be improve to let the user of the lanes use in safety condition. By improving the lanes also can decrease the accident or crime cases in Malaysia. The purpose of construct the motorcycle lanes is to protect the safety of motocyclist. Since we found that there's many problems found on the road, government should solve the problems to ensure the safety of the user.

Have you ever watched the movie Deep Blue sea?
In the movie Dr. Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows)has been using mako sharks as her test subjects for research on the regeneration of human brain tissues.
Well, i'm not gonna tell you what is the movie is all about. But, i would like to share with you all about the type of shark that is used in this movie. That is the Mako Shark.
A mako shark can grow up to 1.82–2.8 m (6–9.2 ft) and weight of approximately 200 kg (440 lb). The largest reported mako was said to be 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) and 4 m (13.2 ft), although the largest confirmed size is 3.96 m (13 ft) and 794 kg (1,750 lb).
The mako shark's speed has been recorded at 50km/h and it can achieve up to 74km/h. They can jump up to 9m in the air. There is still some uncertainty about its life-span, but it is suspected to reach ages of between 11 to 23 years.
So when you go to the sea and bumped into one, do not waste your time to wait for it to attack you. You should make the first move. That is run or swim or whatever you can do as long as you can get away from it.

I’m kind a like anime. When I was small, I love to watch the anime called Medabots.
But, sadly I did not have the chance to watch it till the very end of the episode. A few days ago, my roommate told me that he has copy of the anime. I was very happy to hear the good news!
Now, I will get t watch each episode without being worried of missing an episode of the anime.
Basically the anime is about a boy named Ikki Tenryou. He has a medobot named Matabee. Before I forget, medabot is a robot that we can keep as a pet and they can do the battle for us. They can also be a good companion for us. Ikki Tenryou has a dream to be the best medafighter ever. He has to face many challenges such as the bad guy called The Rubber Robo Gang. They are in search for a rare metal. A rare metal is like a central processing unit of a medabots. It is believed that a rare metal possessed the power to take over the world. Each episode of the anime is filled with Ikki excitement moment.
Above all, I like this anime. Can’t wait to watch the final episode!

WHY IS BIODIVERSITY IMPORTANT?

Does it really matter if there aren't so many species?

Biodiversity actually boosts ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, all have an important role to play and that it is this combination that enables the ecosystem to possess the ability to prevent and recover from a variety of disasters. This is obviously useful for mankind as a larger number of species of plants means more variety of crops and a larger number of species of animals ensure that the ecosystem is naturally sustained.

book : introduction to astronomy by ian ridpath

Astronomy is a field I admire and have great interest. Therefore, I read this short article on "Neptune the outer most Giant".

We have nine planets being discovered, and one of them is planet neptune.

Just to share a little information. Earth has only one moon. But neptune has eight known moons, the largest which is Triton.

Can you guess the surface temperature of this planet? Give up?
Well it is (-201 degree celcius). That is below freezing level. There is definitely no possible way for living creature. Unless there creature's out there that still haven't been discovered.

Every planet is unique. Will share the next eight planets with you in my next blog comment.

Do you know anything about planet Pluto? Well let me share with you that planet Pluto is the outermost planet which was dicovered in 1930. That is a long way back. From this we can say that man was really advanced years ago.

Just like earth. Pluto has only one moon. But the surface temperature is not going to be same as earth, instead it is (-223 degree celcius)

Pluto is one planet to explore. Though it is far, but it is unique. In short we can say it is a giant ball of ice.

Ever wonder how it existed? I would love to know as well :). OKay that is all from me.

I am of the opinion that the environment plays a major role in developing a person's intelligence. The environment encompasses family environment, school environment, and influence from the mass media.

The family environment is the most important factor. This is because a child is most easily influenced in his early years. A child is like a sponge at this time. A child will acquire all the languages spoken at home even if several languages ares spoken at one time. The parents' habits and hobbies become unconscious models for the child. Thus, if the house is filled with books and there is a reading culture, the child learns to love reading.

The school environment is the second greatest influence on a person intelligence. This is where the most important areas of knowledge are transmitted to the child. If the school environment is the second greatest influence on a person's intelligence. This is where the most important areas of knowledge are transmitted to the child. If the school environment encourages academic achievement and the majority of students see academic excellence as a priority , the child will strive for better result in school. However if there is a cultural of truancy, lackadaisical attitude and indiscipline, most likely the child's interest in studies will be diminished. Thus, adversely affecting his mental development. The mass media also plays an important role. One can learn a lot by reading newspapers and watching television. A person becomes well informed about Nature, technology and the world in generally through the news, documentaries and game shows.

In short, the development of a person's intelligence is influenced by a few environments, namely from the family, school and mass media. As the popular IT saying goes, "rubbish in, rubbish out".

Hi everyone, today I am going to share about an article on “Venus , the hell planet”. NO! It is not hell, but is a hell like planet. This is because planet Venus it is covered by lava flows and volcanic mountains on Venus.

It is very deadly. This makes me wonder at times. Between all the nine planets, planet earth happens to be the only planet with living creature and is completely different from the other planets. For example, Venus is covered with fire n lava which has completely no room for living creature. All the nine planets are in one solar system, but not one planet functions as how earth functions.

That’s all from me.

Gambling with the Children

Lack of evidence for change strategies
Despite decades worth of evidence about making productive, lasting change in schools, many of the strategies employed by nochild left are untested and potentially both damaging and ineffectual.

Chief among these strategies is the notion that moving poorly performing children about from one school to another will improve the learning of those children and the performance of the schools themselves. Student performance improves when instruction improves, but that is not necessarily going to happen just because a student changes schools.

No child left guidelines published in December, 2002 by the Ed Department, insist that parents of students in poorly performing schools be allowed to transfer them even if it causes overcrowding elsewhere.

In their zeal for parental choice, the NCLB advocates have created a potentially damaging system promoting even more transience than that level already frustrating many urban schools. Ironically, the statistical impact of a sudden flood of poorly performing students upon the average scores of a school could throw that school into a category of needing improvement while dramatically improving the average scores of the school being abandoned.

Systems theory cautions us about unanticipated changes popping up whenever pressures are applied like the ones coming from NCLB. If we measure only math and reading performance, for example, those scores may improve while other types of learning may decline.

I like to comment about the student in examination period. Before the exam, some other people doesn’t realize that it is important to score, but there a lots of ways. When they aren’t care about their study and also exam paper, they’ll trouble themselves. Just like what I’ve seen before, they are cheating in exam by copying each other and this is what we call plagiarism.

They are also never thing that the examination is teaching them on how to face the difficulty in their life. To get all the things in our life is not too easy, so we have to walk through in hard ways of life. Just like William james said, “Human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind”.

POLICE HOLD FIVE IN ALBINO GIRL MURDER

Hello. This news is about a murder of nine years old albino girl. But the murder of the girl was just part of the protest in Dar es Salaam. From what I have read, there a group of people targeting the albinos for murder and then they took the albino’s body part.

I don’t understand why they did like that to albino people. For me albino people are unique and they should be treated just like other people. We cannot just kill them because they are different from us. From the news also, it stated that death penalty will be applied for anyone that involve in murder of an albino. I really agree with that penalty. They disserve to be punishing like that. if we let a person like that free, we don’t know who will be the next victim.

Here I give you some steps that can be taken to use your defeat to gain success. First,do not feel sorry for yourself but instead, look beyond the defeat to draw worthwhile lesson from it. Subsequently, make an effort to think positive and have optimistic thoughts about yourself. Then only will you be able to rationally analyse the defeat. Next, consider alternatives and make necessary adjustment that will help you be more open to other opportunities. Finally, set new targets now that you have realised what you can and cannot do. Use these nw goals to set new direction and restyle your life accordingly.

I came up with one idea where I feel a startup could make a difference, instead of trying to recreate the next Twitter killer yet again. Most modern grocery stores are all digitized. Every can of green beans is accounted for in a system. There are many people who are receiving the financial assistance to support their food needs.

Can we build a system which is automatically calculate the best possible food purchase choices, based on the amount of money available to spend divided by the number of people in the family, and built around the best possible nutrition choices? Could we print that list and even provide aisle/shelf numbers to make it even easier?
so, please think about that.

thanks.

Hi! I am sure everyone out there loves chocolate! It is not that easy to find someone saying the opposite of “loving chocolate”. However, has anyone wondered how is chocolate actually made? Well, here is how it is made. These are the following steps :
Roast the cocoa beans.
Crack and winnow the beans
Grind the nibs into a cocoa liqueur
Conch and refine the chocolate
Temper the chocolate
Mold the chocolate
Remove the chocolate from the molds
Enjoy the chocolate!
Seriously it is interesting to read how chocolate is being made. Do read through the artivle if you like to know more.

Hello. Now lets talk about motorbikes. A motorcycle (bike, motorbicycle, cycle or motorbike) is a single-track, two-wheeled motor vehicle powered by an engine. Motorcycles vary considerably depending on the task for which they are designed, such as long distance travel, navigating congested urban traffic, cruising, sport and racing, or off-road conditions. In many parts of the world, motorcycles are among the least expensive and most widespread forms of motorised transport.

Now it's about a bikes named. It is about Harley Davidson. Harley-Davidson Motor Company is an American manufacturer of motorcycles based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company sells heavyweight (over 750 cc) motorcycles designed for cruising on the highway. Harley-Davidson motorcycles (popularly known as "Harleys") have a distinctive design and exhaust note. They are especially noted for the tradition of heavy customization that gave rise to the chopper-style of motorcycle.

Harley-Davidson attracts a loyal brand community, with licensing of the Harley-Davidson logo accounting for almost 5% of the company's net revenue ($41 million in 2004). In 2003, the Buell Motorcycle Company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, the same year that Harley-Davidson celebrated its 100th birthday. In August 2008, Harley-Davidson purchased the Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta. Harley-Davidson supplies many American police forces with their motorcycle fleets.

Anime.

Anime (アニメ, Anime? literally - "Anima", taken from half of "animation") (pronounced [anime] listen (help·info) in Japanese, but typically pronounced /ˈænɪmeɪ/, /ˈænɪmə/, /ə'naɪm/, or /'ænaɪm/ in English) is animation in Japan and considered Japanese animation in the rest of the world. Anime dates from about 1917.

Anime in Japan is popular among a small community and is now viewed throughout the world. Anime itself is considered a form of limited animation. Anime can be broadcast either through television or released directly to video, which are often called OVAs or OAV (Original Animation Video).

Anime can be hand drawn or computer-assisted. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, commercials, and internet-based releases, and represents all genres of fiction.

Hye. I really likes Hanuman you know. So do you know who is hanuman or what is it? So please read this. Hanuman (Sanskrit: हनुमत् Hanumat; nominative singular हनुमान् Hanumān), known also as 'Anjaneya' (son of Anjana), is one of the most popular concepts of servants of God (bhakti) (devotion to God) in Hinduism and one of the most important personalities in the Indian epic, the Ramayana. His most famous feat, as described in the Hindu epic scripture the Ramayana, was leading a monkey army to fight the demon King Ravana.

FAMILY FOUND DEAD IN HOD HASHARON
Two parents and two children were found dead in their apartment in Hod Hasharon. What make me sad is the mother’s body was found sitting up against a wall while the three year old child was found in the living room next to his father's body and the baby girl was found in her crib in the parents' bedroom, with gunshot wounds to her body. In the news also stated that the wife is a relative of a former senior officer in Israel Police. From my opinion, maybe the criminal has grunge with that family. But they are so heartless to kill little children with a gun and also the mother of the children. The kids cannot do anything that can harm them. What make their so heartless to kill the little kids? Even I cannot stand to hear the sound of baby crying. How can they do that? One more thing, why people should kill each other? Human are gifted with a perfect mind. They can think wisely before murder anyone. Human can differentiate which one right and wrong. So think wisely before do anything. Choose the right thing.

Mak Yong is a local dance-drama. It is probably one of the country. It is dance as one long story over several nights. Each night, the storys continues from the story danced the night before. Most of the roles are played by the women so it is a delicate and graceful dance. Mak Yong uses traditional musical items such as the gong, 'tetawak' and 'canang'. There is also singing. The art is dying because very few people practise it. It is very sad that people have forgotten its beauty and relevance.

I am sure this posting this time is going to be in tip top mode.Hahaha. Now, what is jerk? Give me your first thinking that play in your mind now. I bet you must think about that 'jerk' right. Hahaha.

In physics, jerk, jolt (especially in British English), surge or lurch, is the rate of change of acceleration; that is, the derivative of acceleration with respect to time, the second derivative of velocity, or the third derivative of displacement.

Jerk is a vector, and there is no generally used term to describe its scalar magnitude.

The units of jerk are metres per second cubed (Metres per second per second per second, m/s3 or ms-3). There is no universal agreement on the symbol for jerk, but j is commonly used.

Now what do you think about jerk. Think about it man. Chow.

Cancer, if untreated can spread and cause death eventually. In the same way, corruption, if unchecked can become widespread and destroy a nation. The comparison between corruption and cancer serves to underline the fact that corruption has grave economic and social con sequences on a country. Investors will shy away from investing in the country and the people of that country will, unfortunately realise that nothing can be achieved unless corrupt officials are paid off. Hence, corruption has to be nipped in the bud before it gets out of control. Three effective measures which can be implemented are strict enforcement by the police and the Anti- Corruption Agency (ACA), religious and moral education and campaigns and coverage through the mass media.

In short, if the government and public make a concerted effort to fight corruption, the problem can be checked and corruption will no longer rear its ugly head. Investors who realise that they do not have to worry about paying of corrupt officials will return to invest in the country. This will augur well for the economis prosperity of the country and help the country to achieve the target of Vision 2020.

Before you go on a holiday , check out your destination. Read a recent travel guide and visit the websites set up by travel book companies to find out what you can. Once you are familiar with your destination, focus on one or two aspects. Then go to local exhibitions or public lecturers or surf the Net. Borrow relevant materials like bussiness cards, maps, and brochures from them and listen to any tips they might have. In addition, check up on the weather and the local currency of your destination. Lastly, keep an open mind.

Palm trees are used for many purpose. They rehabilitate infertile soil for other flora and fauna to thrive there and attract birds and butterflies. They also shelter birds and small animals and are home to many plants and insects. Moreover, the sap is processed to make sugar and wine. The flowers are eaten or made into candy, while the fruit pulp is used to make candies and cooking oil. Water from the nut is used as a thirst quencher. The pulp and roots are used as medicine. Trunks are used for timber and planks, leaves for thatch and the seeds and nuts for handicraft and ornaments.

Human needs can be narrowed down to three essentials: air, water and food. Without air, one would not survive ten minutes; without water one would likely die of dehydration within ten days and without food, the body would probably after ten weeks. The average person requires between six and eight glasses of drinking water a day to maintain the hydration of tissues in the body, and to facilitate the physiological processes of digestion. In addition, water acts as a transport medium for nutrients within the body, helps to remove toxins and waste materials and stabilities the body temperature.

I'm sure many of you like to eat fast food such as Mc D, Pizza Hur, KFC, and much more.

Why is fast food so popular?

Because it is convenient, predictable, and most importantly it is fast. Because nowadays, lots of people in need to move fast from one place to the other.

Instead of waiting food at the restaurant, they prefer go and eat at the fast food outlet.

But nutrition expert point out that fast food are often high in calories, sodium, fat and cholesterol.

I'm not saying that fast food is bad or otherwise I'll get banned from entering any fast food branches.

What I'm trying to say is, you should fit fast food into balanced, healthy diet.

Mary Celeste.

125 years ago, this ship was found floating with no one on board, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The fate of the crew and the passenger of the ship can never been explained.

Was launched in 1861, from the shipyard at Spencer's Island under the name Amazon. But then she got repaired after involved in an accident and being renamed as Mary Celeste.

On November 7, 1872, the Mary Celeste sailed under the command of Captain Benjamin Briggs bound for Europe with a cargo of wines and liquors. He was accompanied by his wife, his young daughter and a crew of seven.

On December 4, 1872, the Mary Celeste was found floating 600 miles off Gibraltar. The official reports stated that everything to be in good condition, except that the ship's paper and its chronometer were missing. The last entry into the captain's logs, on November 24, gave no idea of what had happened to the ship and its crew.

One report stated that the ship is in bad condition when it was found.
There were bloodied weapons on board and blood on some of the sail. If this is a work of pirates, but why the money box and all the valuable liquor and wine was not taken?

There are many other theories regarding the missing crew of Mary Celeste. But, what is the real story of the Mary Celeste? What was the fate of Captain Briggs and his family, and the crew of the Mary Celeste?

“Family is very important”
“As a child you find comfort in hanging out with your parents. As a teenager you find identity when you step away from parents and illustrate your independence. As a young adult as you are now independent, you learn to appreciate them so much more.”
This phrase above is really true. It is only when we are all grown up to realize how much we appreciate the sacrifice our parents has gone through just to brings us up in life.

So,please think about it.

Fun facts about cigarettes.

There are over 4,000 chemicals in cigarette smoke – 200 of which are deadly, and 60 cause cancer. These chemicals come from the tobacco or from additives that cigarette companies add (and aren’t required to list).

Besides nicotine (which is very addictive), cigarette smoke contains: arsenic, acetic acid, acetone, ammonia, benzene, cadmium, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, hydrazine, hydrogen cyanide, nickel, pyridene, and toluene.

Wow, 4000 chemicals, 200 which are deadly and 60 of them can cause cancer. I just can't understand why there are still people want to smoke.

It seems like they does not care about their health. I've ask a friend of my, why is he smoking? Does he knows that it is very dangerous to smoke?

He answered me; he knew about the dangers of smoking. It is just he can not stop from taking it because it feels so good.

I just don't understand him. Well, if you have any family members who are smoking, told them to quit it. It is proven that smoking is dangerous to health.
