2. Ab exercises like crunches, sit-ups, and ab machines are the LEAST effective method of getting flat six pack abs. We'll explore what types of exercises REALLY work in a minute.
3. Boring repetitive cardio exercise routines are NOT the best way to lose body fat and uncover those six pack abs. I'll show you the exact types of unique workouts that produce 10x better results below.
4. You DON'T need to waste your money on expensive "extreme fat burner" pills (that don't work) or other bogus supplements. A special class of natural foods is much more effective. I'll tell you about these natural foods and their powers.

OBSTACLES TO PEAK PERFORMANCE
The greatest obstacle between us and our goal may be ourself. Fears, self-limiting beliefs and low self-esteem can form hidden stumbling blocks to performance. When people trip over themselves, they can fall far below their peak potential. To reach your potential you must first identify and then remove the self-defeating barriers to your success. This is like clearing a pathway so that a race can be run unimpeded. If your path is clear, then your own efforts can carry you to your goals. But if there are unseen blocks, even the best effort can stumble to a halt.

http://www.mindtools.com/memory.html
Want to built your memory?
The tools are split into two
sections:
1) Learn the memory techniques.
2) How can use them in practice to remember.
Mnemonics
Mnemonic' is another word for memory tool. Mnemonics are techniques for remembering information that is otherwise quite difficult to recall. In this modern complex arguments makes our brains do not easily encode written information, making it difficult to remember. The idea behind using mnemonics is to encode difficult-to-remember information in a way that is much easier to remember.
Using Your Whole Mind to Remember
The key idea is that by coding information using vivid mental images, you can reliably code both information and the structure of information and because the images are vivid, they are easy to recall when you need them.
How to make your mnemonics more memorable:
Use positive, pleasant images.
Use vivid, colorful, sense-laden images.
Use all your senses to code information or dress up an images.
Give your image three dimensions, movement and space to make it more vivid.
Exaggerate the size of important parts of the image
Use humor! Funny or peculiar things are easier to remember than normal ones.
Similarly, rude rhymes are very difficult to forget!
All these will help to enhance and built your memory capacity.

Children under age 12 should always be accompanied by an adult.
Develop a neighborhood route for children to follow. It should only include well-lit areas with which children are familiar.
Make sure children understand they should never go into a stranger's home, and that they should only approach houses that are well-lit.

love a someone as they are, as you seek to find your own special way to relate to the world, or the way you feel that is right for you. It is important that you are the person you want to be and not someone that I or others think you should be.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hip_hop_culture
HI, I am sure many people among us love hip hop. But what is hip hop culture? How did it first start? What is the history of hip hop?
Well,Hip hop is a subculture, which is said to have begun with the work of DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, and Afrika Bambaattaa. The four main aspects, or "elements", of hip hop culture are (rapping), DJing, urban inspired art/tagging, and b-boying (breakdancing). Equally vital but not always recognizable is the fifth element, the element of "building" (raising consciousness). The most known "extended" elements are beatboxing, hip hop fashion, and hip hop slang.
All this sub culture is under hip hop. Hip hop is not only meant for hip hop song. There are so much more to it. You should have a look at this.
It is very interesting. Helps us to know more about the hip hop culture for those who do not really know what they are.

How many pets have you had?
In this world nowadays, it is a real pity to see animals being left astray. PUt yourslef in a cats shoe for a moment. Can you imagine the number of hugry days they go through begging for food? Yes, their "poo" isn't very heartwarming but when it comes to hunger and striving to live is where we should have a heart set a side for animals, specificly domestic animals. If we are hungry, we can always ask. BUt, if an animal is hungry, it is almost impossible to understand their language. Isn't that a pity?
It is always nice if every family could adopt a poor lonely animal as a pet and give it a good shelter to live in, good foood for good health with love and care.

Teachers of english: Basic language skills needed
there are some who are not up to the mark for some obvious reasons.
A survey on this issue in some urban schools showed that even average students felt that some of their English teachers are not really proficient in the language. To quote a few examples related by students:
The term “ketua pengawas” was translated by the English teacher as “head prefect”. The teacher holds a master’s degree in TESL.
As fo that, Malaysians should also bear in mind that being proficient in a foreign language works to their advantage. We need to be proficient in English in today’s increasingly competitive world. To achieve this, we need teachers who are proficient in the language, dedicated and who can spend more time with students.

Does our dream have meaning?
First of all, many people say that "I had a dream about you last night". What is dream anyway? The meaning of dream is a series of mental images and emotions occurring during we sleep.
There are five main types of dream:
1) Ordinary Dreams-Ordinary dreams are based on the activity of the unconscious in response to what we have seen or heard in our waking hours.
2) Lucid Dreams-A lucid dream is one that you can control because you are aware that you are dreaming.
3) Telepathic Dreams-Telepathy, known as “the language of the angels,” allows the dead and the living to speak in dreamland. In this meeting place, death is no barrier, and the living cross the threshold into a heavenly sphere of existence.
4) Premonitory Dreams-Premonitory dreams are similar to telepathic dreams in that your spirit leaves your body and ventures on a voyage of discovery.
5) Nightmares-Nightmares are representations of a suppressed, original fear commonly created by excessively strict parental or sibling moral standards and the threat of punishment in the face of innocence.
Does a dream means anything to you? Yes, dream can be interpreted but, not by anything you can buy. You interpret it. You should just think about it a minute once you wake up and after that worry no more. Dreams do have a few important things. They tell you things your subconscious realizes that you haven’t consciously thought much about. They can be stress relievers or tell you that you need to let go or hold on tighter. I've had a lot of weird dreams. Some dreams are just your brain mulling over things that happened.
Dreams are not to be taken lightly. They might just be a deep being laying right behind it. Beware!
Thank You.

Gundam is a TV series that really took my heart away. I like Japanese anime, very much. And Gundam is one of my favourite anime.
Do you know that Gundam have been on air for about 20 years? The first Gundam's TV series was called Mobile Suit Gundam.
Gundam later became a franchise name with more sequels, prequels, side stories and alternative timelines, published and aired in various media including TV anime, OVA, manga, novels, and video games.
They also make many action figures based on Gundam TV series. I tried to collect all of the action figures but they really expensive. One day I hope that I can collect all of them.

"Remember the Golden Rule. He who has the gold makes the rules."
Have you ever heard of this quotation?
He who has the gold makes the rules.
It seems like rich people can dominate the world. That is why i want to be a rich guy. :)
But, if just being rich and does not know when to help other people who are in need, I think it is useless.
If you have the money, why not you donate some of them to poor people?
They may not get to be rich in an instant, but what you did can put smile on their face.
I want to have lots of money and "rich" in manner.

Second quote for the day:
"Physical exercise improves health, mental exercise improves wealth, laziness destroys both."
Means that if you want to improve your health please do lots of physical exercise. :)
Just kidding.
I think what this quote try to say is if yo are lazy, you will not be able to achieve anything.
You may just can dream of being a successful, rich, and being adored by people around you. But in the end it is just a dream.
Throw away that "L" word.
Only then you can be healthy and wealthy.

now i'll share with all of u the simple guide to fight the stress..it is important especially for all of us now..right??
1)Exercise:a steady exercise problem can help people reduce their stress levels. A calm evening walk or a more dynamic type of exercise, like an aerobic class, can help a stressed individual get rid of the tension and the anxiety that are caused by stress.
2)Sleep: Give your body and mind the opportunity to rejuvenate naturally during sleep. Although people under stress experience difficulties in sleeping the appropriate hours needed, experts support that sticking with a steady sleeping plan and going to bed every night around the same time, avoiding heavy food or caffeine drinks, can help a person fall asleep and lower his stress levels.
3)Breath: Learn how to breathe properly and practice it frequently. Deep breathing exercises can help the brain and body reconsider the parameters of a stressful situation and readjust to the experience. Inhale air from the nose and exhale it from the mouth after holding it for five seconds. In the meantime clear your mind and concentrate on a pleasant thought.
4)Don't panic: Although it is common to let your feelings go wild when upset, try to focus on what you feel and act as if that was your main problem so as to solve it. Listening to music, breathing properly and going out, or doing whatever you think is appropriate can put you in a better mood

Intelligent Design
Intelligent Design is the absolutely true and totally scientific theory that the Universe is so mind-bogglingly complex that it could only have been designed and constructed by an equally, if not more complex, "Intelligent Designer", whom we shall call the "Creator".
This Creator might not have been a creator at all, but rather a committee of creators. Therefore the official theory makes absolutely no reference to a Christian God. In fact, the theory was run through a word processor which also checked for all common misspelllings, so this is an absolute certain fact!

An idea is indicated by the presence of a light source above a person's head. This usually tends to be a lightbulb but can also take the form of mildly radioactive fan heaters, electric torches or even internally lit large exclamation marks
The Thought Process:
-Step one: find an interesting concept
-Step two: modify the concept
-Step three: claim the idea as your own

How To Write Persuasively!
When writing an advertisement, your aim is to persuade your readers to follow a particular course of action -- willingly.
There are three elements in this process:
1. You must win the trust of your audience.
2. You must appeal to their emotions (rather than to their intellect).
3. You must rationalise their decision for them, so that they feel comfortable in making it.

To prepare for an interview, gather as much information as you can about the company beforehand by calling them or paying a visit. Prepare a portfolio early and highligt your skills and capabilities in the application form. Besides that, be positive. Brainstorm with a friend on ways to bring out your qualities. Better still, carry out a mock interview to practise and prepare questions and answers. You also need to be ready to provide information that interviewers do not ask. Most importantly, first impressions count so be carefull of your behaviour espesially in the first five minutes.

Elephant Bird The Giant Bird That Shocked Early Arabian And Indian Explorers
Early Arabian and Indian explorers had always talked about the existence of the largest bird whose eggs measured three feet in circumference. We also find reference of such a bird in the tales of Sindbad the Sailor. All were actually referring to the Elephant Bird or the Vouron Patra, the scientific name of which is Aepyornis maximus.
The Elephant bird inhabited the island of Madagascar which was then inhabited by African and Indonesian races who were estimated to have arrived at the island 2000 years ago. Although the Portuguese were the first Europeans to visit the island in 1500, it was the French who settled permanently in the island in 1642. The name Vouron Patra was derived from the French only.
The first French governor recognized the existence of an ostrich-like bird which preferred to lay eggs in solitary areas. The reason why this gigantic bird became extinct was not known, but it is definite that the native tribes invaded the birds’ nests to hunt for their eggs and eggshells which greatly served the tribal people’s interests as food and ornaments.
The Elephant Bird survived till 1649. We and perhaps the future generations would learn about this bird from the bone specimens and from a few preserved eggs. The Elephant Bird belonging to the family Aepyornithidae could reach a height of 10 ft and the largest among them weighed 455 kg. The large eggs that measured up to 33 cm in length contained around two gallons of liquid.
The Elephant Bird was a ratite or a flightless bird as kneel present in other birds to support their flight was not present in the Elephant Bird’s breast bone. Researches have suggested that the ratites evolved in the Cenozoic era after the dinosaurs became extinct. Some of the other flightless birds include the ostrich, kiwi, rhea, emu, cassowary and the Moa which became extinct.
Fossil records have revealed that a maximum of seven different species of Elephant Bird had thrived since the Pleistocene. But only the smaller Aepyornis mullerornis and the Elephant Bird managed to survive for long. Fossils and fragments of eggs are not enough to support the claims regarding the existence of the bird.
The fossils of the Elephant Bird were found in combination with hippopotamus bones were found along the coast of Madagascar in peat deposits. The year 2000 witnessed the discovery of some intact eggs which brought Elephant Birds into fresh limelight once again! Aepyornis

Pregnancy Week To Week Three Trimesters Advancement Of Embryo
Pregnancy week to week refers to the weekly changes that take place in the body of a woman as well as the baby in her womb as she makes progress through her pregnancy. Usually the pregnancy lasts for a period of thirty six to forty weeks. This period is divided into three trimesters, each comprising of about twelve to fourteen weeks. The overall process of pregnancy is marked with hormonal changes that manifest themselves in the form of physiological and psychological changes.
As pregnancy week to week advances, the embryo that is formed at conception goes through the fetal stages to become a fully formed baby, ready to be delivered. It has been proved in modern medical research that the fetus can also experience certain physiological and psychological stimuli, while it is in the womb of its mother and the basic characteristics of ones psychology is formed then. The first trimester starts with the first day of the conception and it goes up to twelve weeks. The embryo formed by the fusion of the female ovum and male sperm consists of two cells. In the first trimester it grows three inches long and most of its organs are well formed by then.
The mother experiences vomiting sensation, loss of appetite, high levels of tiresomeness that might reach extreme stages, due to hormonal variations owing to baby growth as pregnancy week to week makes progress. All this will take a toll on the bodily strength of women and hence it is important that the mother have proper and timely food along with special multivitamin preparations made for pregnancy. The second trimester extends from the thirteenth week to the twenty fifth weeks. By the time this period ends, the baby will be two and a half to three pounds heavy and about fourteen inches in length. Sometime around the 18th-19th week the fetal sex can be determined, though this practice is banned in some nations.
The typical pregnant tummy of the mother will show well and will grow fast with the healthy growth of the baby. Proper and frequent medical attention is required for the baby and the mother during this time. It will be seen that most of the bodily inconveniences felt during the first trimester by the mother have subsided and she will seem to be regaining her energy. Hence this is a time for her to remain cheerful and optimistic about the approaching happy event of her life. Pregnancy week to week for the last trimester results in the baby achieving its full weight of about 7 lbs. and full length of 27 inches. The mother may experience body aches and body swelling due to carrying extra weight. This period lasts from the twenty fifth week to the birth of the child. Stages of pregnancy

Officially called the Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network, it includes several television channels like Cspan that features live coverage of the House of Representatives, C-SPAN2 that telecasts the Senate and airs Book TV on weekends and Cspan 3 that covers other live events and airs archived historical programming. It also includes the C-SPAN radio and C-SPAN website. The C-SPAN Radio covers similar programs as its sister networks and is often engaged in simulating their programming.
Cspan s operations are mostly located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. However the network also maintains archives in West Lafayette, Indiana at the Purdue Research Park. Its chairman and CEO Brian Lamb originally conceived C-SPAN during his stint with Cablevision, a cable industry trade magazine. It was initiated on March 19, 1979 by telecasting a speech by then-congressman Al Gore.
In February 2003, Cspan launched the Amos B. Hostetter Distance Learning Program partnering the University of Denver. Held at the C-SPAN center in Washington, the program features celebrated guests in Politics and Journalism asking live questions to students far away in Denver. The program was later expanded to Pace University in New York.
Operated as a non-profit organization by the National Cable Satellite Corporation, Cspan receives no funding from the government and reportedly functions as neutral and unbiased. However, its programs like Washington Journal, Booknotes, Q & A, and Afterwords have received allegations of being pro-conservative. In its analysis of Washington Journal, the left-leaning watchdog group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) showed that Republicans were favored as guests over Democrats by a two-to-one margin during a six-month period in 2005, and that people of color are not represented sufficiently. FAIR and have also charged that the shows Booknotes and Afterwords highlight more conservative authors than liberals.
Although Cspan has failed to accumulate as high rankings as major networks, C-Span has its share of dedicated viewers who like to call themselves C-SPAN Junkies, SPANners, or Spanheads and therefore is assured of a secure position in the cable industry.
The year 2007 saw Cspan liberalizing its copyright policy of its content allowing non-commercial copying, sharing, and posting of C-SPAN video on the Internet, with attribution. Before this, C-SPAN was very stringent about unauthorized usage of its content and even fired WRPI's Dennis Karius telecasting copyrighted audio from C-SPAN's web stream on his radio program.CSPAN

ABC Family Walt Disney Company Cable TV Network
ABC Family is The Walt Disney Companys, Disney-ABC television Groups Cable TV network. This cable network offers a variety of entertainment in the form of interesting series, films and specific ABC repeat programs. The ABC family was started on the 17th of November 2001. This cable TV network is headquartered at Burbank. On Direct TV it is available on Channel 311 and on Dishnetwork it is available on Channel 180. The programs of ABC family were actually derived from those of the Fox Kids Network that was sold by Fox and Haim Saban to ABC.
The ABC Family presented itself in a new garb from the month of August in 2006. It adopted a new slogan and appearance. The new slogan implies a family kind of entertainment and though the majority of programs are meant for family entertainment, many of them are not actually meant for child veiwership. An example of such a series is Greek that is generally put under the TV-14 category. The Family tag needs to be added to the cable network owing to some contractual agreement with Robertson. But even though ABC has deviated from its commitment of airing only family entertainment, both CBN and Robertson have not taken any legal steps against the network in this regard.
The Jetix channel programs made their last appearance on ABC Family on the 31st of August 2006 as only the Jetix programs. This was because Disney had planned to air the Jetix programs under the banner of Toon Disney. Beyblade, Get Ed, Digimon: Digital Monsters, Daigunder and Metabots were some of the Jetix programs, amongst others, that were shown on the ABC network from 2002. The Power Rangers was by far the hot favorite of all the Jetix programs aired on ABC.
The ABC Family also started featuring movie premiers. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Stardust and Hairspray are some of the movies whose premiers were shown on this network. This network is very popular for airing holiday special programs in packages. 25 Days of Christmas is such a program slab that occupies the timeslot of other interesting programs during the Christmas season. The Christmas collection aired by the ABC family consists of the original sequences created by Rankin-Bass, and the following episodes created by the Fox Family.
Rebranding movies to increase its sales is a feature of ABC Family. She Gets What She Wants (originally Slap Her …Shes French) and Big Liar on Campus (originally Full of it) are examples of it. Kyle XY is the most popular show of the series. Weekend events like Harry Potter and Sound of Music have created waves in the audience of the channel. Very recently, in October 2007, they have changed the entire get-up of their cyber-home. They have made it digital. ABC Family

The total area covered by it is nearly 2.5 million km² and however its connection to the Atlantic has a width of only 14 kilometer. Denton Welch English Writer Maiden Voyage Brave And Cruel A Voice Through A Crowd Painter
Denton Welch was a popular English writer famous for his dramatic prose and clear-cut description. His other works include paintings, one of which can be seen in the National Portrait Gallery. His upbringing in Shanghai and later in England had a profound influence in his writing.
Denton Welch was born on 27 March, 1915 in Shanghai into a family that resembles that of a ruling class of Edwardian period. Though he was brought up amidst safety and wealth, it lacked the love and social meetings. These could be seen in his writing. His fictionalized autobiography, “Maiden Voyage” provides vivid description about it. After the release of “Maiden Voyage”, Denton Welch brought out another novel called “In Youth is Pleasure” that came out in 1943.
The book is about life in adolescence. In 1949, he brought out “Brave and Cruel.” He could not finish his book “A Voice through a Cloud,” which was an autobiography that came out in 1950.
Denton Welch did not think of becoming a writer while a student at Repton school. His interests in art and writing were a result of his desolate life that he grew up with. When he was 11 years of age, his mother died. After completing his school education, he joined the art school in London as he wanted to be a painter.
When he was 20 years old, he met with a terrible accident as he was cycling in Surrey. It left him with fractured spine along with severe pain and complications. He died of spinal pneumonia at the age of 33 on 30 December 1948.
The literary works of Denton Welch are vivid and self-examining and makes a perceptive portrayal of friends and also that of the English countryside as found in World War II. In all his writings, one will find minute details of beauty and taste in every aspects of life, be it human behavior, clothing, architecture, or physical appearance. His essay on Walter Sickert, the painter, that came out in The London Magazine was highly appreciative and he came in contact with Sitwell.
With the sponsorships of Sitwell and John Lehmann, his writing career got high coverage that ultimately brought him reputation. In the meantime, he used to paint, one of which is his self-portrait that could be seen in the National Portrait Gallery. Many of the first editions in his books have his illustrations. But his journals that first came out in 1952 were his most enduring work. In 1984, complete editions of his journals were brought out, which was edited by Michael De La Noy. Denton Welch

CAN ANIMALS PREDICT DISASTER?
It’s amazing to know that animals can predict disaster. Animals can react faster before the natural disaster happen. Even science is beat by the animals. It is not just an elephants can predict natural disaster but even other animals also can predict disaster. Animals can know if something goes wrong with the nature. That’s why animals can react faster when natural disaster happens this is because animals are close with the nature.

Andrea Barrett MacArthur Award Pulitzer Prize Winner Servants Of The Map The Voyage of the Narwhal
The illustrious literary career of Andrea Barrett started when she did not cross even her thirties. She has many coveted awards in her kitty. These include the “MacArthur” award that she received in 2001 and her ground breaking work “Servants of the Map” that fetched her the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 2003. Andrea Barrett was also rewarded with the National Book Award for her literary work “Ship Fever and Other Stories” which she got in 1996. One of the noticeable features of her writing is that she repeats a character twice or thrice in several of her literary works. However, the repetition has not made the novels devoid of freshness as she has incorporated carefully crafted plots in each.
With the publication of “The Voyage of the Narwhal”, Andrea Barrett burst into the literary scene. The natural flow, seamless narration and outstanding depiction of characters within a given encompass, helped this book in garnering immense success among the readers and rave reviews from the critics. But this success did not affect her original writing style in her later works. She still retains the original flavor and the ornate yet simple style that made her so popular among the avid lovers of literature.
Before the arrival of Andrea Barrett in the literary arena, some other famous literary personalities emerged from that same location where she presently stays. However, none of them have come close to the popularity of Barrett. Though she liked to write in a tranquil ambience, sometimes she had to compromise with some awkward situation where the effects of the mundane life are evident. She usually loves to write in the morning and she keeps the evening for further reading. As a writer, she likes to do a lot of research that is required for depicting minute details about a charter so that the characters may appear credible and life like.
One vital aspect of the literary works of Andrea Barrett is that her works are enriched with rich stories and all of them are original and studded with the brilliant artistic touches. She usually avers the fact that when she prepared herself for writing something she hardly knew what she will write, save some trivial details pertained to the main characters. It is her imaginative power and sheer artistic sensibility that helped her write a book which has made its place to be compared with any contemporary literary classic. Andrea Barrett

A E Van Vogt Science Fiction Writer The Voyage of the Space Beagle And Black Destroyer
A E Van Vogt is among the leading authors of science fiction who gave the genre a new life in the twentieth century. This talented author was born in Canada. In the early days of his writing career, he wrote for pulp magazines like ‘True story’ but eventually he switched to science fiction. With the passage of time he became one of the most successful science fiction writers of all times.
The revolutionary scientific thesis of Charles Darwin’s ‘The Origin of Species’ served as the source of inspiration of A E van Vogt’s debut science fiction story titled ‘Black Destroyer’. It was published in 1939. The fiction narrated the spine chilling account of a carnivorous and terrible alien creature wrecking havoc on the lives of the crews of a spaceship.
It achieved a cult status in the history of science fiction and a number of science fiction films were inspired by this tale. The famous novel ‘The Voyage of the Space Beagle’ that was published in 1950 had elements of this story along with some others like "Discord in Scarlet", "War of Nerves" and "M33 in Andromeda".
AE Van Vogt devoted all his time to writing post the 1940’s and the subsequent decades witnessed a flowering of his literary genius. As a matter of fact, many of his short work were later compiled into a novel. After the Second World War the writings of Van Vogt took a different dimension. One of his mainstream novels titled ‘The Violent Man’ was composed after the author did extensive research on the Communist China. The author admitted that several of his concepts were derived from dreams and it is clearly reflected in his works.
A E van Vogt received considerable critical acclaim for his contribution to the genre of science fiction. The prestigious Casper award was handed to him in 1980 for lifetime achievement. In his late years the Science fiction authors of USA honored him with the coveted Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master Award. Several contemporary writers have also showered lavish praises on the writer. Besides, his mastery of the plots and the penchant for accuracy is rarely seen in the works of other writers of the genre.
Among his most eminent novels, ‘The Universe Maker’, ‘Siege of the Unseen’, ‘Empire of the Atom ’, ‘The House That Stood Still and The Mind Cage deserve special mention. A sequel to his popular novel ‘Slan’ was published by his widow after his demise in 2000. A. E. van Vogt

Scottish Tradition Upholder Alasdair Alpin MacGregor The Goat Wife A last Voyage To St Kilda
Alasdair Alpin MacGregor was a versatile artist involved in writing of poetry, and Scottish legendary tales along with photography for Travel Guides. He was born in Scotland in 1899. He grew up in Tain and completed his education from Edinburgh. He had spent the later part of his life in Swan Courtand at Chelsea in Upper Chyne Row. He was also an activist campaigning against tests conducted on animals. He was also the mentor of Marion Barry, who was later elected as the Mayor of Washington, D.C.
Alasdair Alpin MacGregor had written a book called The Goat Wife which was based on the tough life story of her aunt named Dorothy. She was a small farmer in Easter Ross village and the story depicts the life in Ann Street of Edinburgh. It captures a wide span of time, from the beginning if the World War I to the end of World War II and it affected the lives of the commoners. This book also shows how the naivety and innocence of the villagers of Scotland were still existent even after the nuclear holocaust.
The historical figure of Frederick Victor Branford is portrayed in the character called Victor. A minister of Edinburgh named T. Ratcliffe Barnett had also supported MacGregor in showing how the rural people of Scotland were still the same after the Industrial Revolution that had ushered in modernization.
Alasdair Alpin MacGregor was famous for his books that focused on the traditions and myths of Scotland and his stylized way of treating old themes. This was not always well-received by critics. Critics like Compton Mackenzie had mocked this style of Alpin in many of his novels. The title of his 1931 book called A last Voyage To St. Kilda suggests how insignificant the whole criticism was.
The tendency to caricature was evident in his book Observations and Adventures of an Egotistic Private Secretary, which seemed to advocate the fact that he was imitating Robinson Crusoe in its trying to evacuate St. Kilda. MacGrregor was the Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster at the time and strongly protested against these kinds of criticism. Alasdair Alpin MacGregor

Whoopi Goldberg Actress Of Wake Up With Whoopi Cubby Bryant
Noted African American actress, comedian, entertainer, author and talk show host Whoopi Goldbergs national radio show Wake Up With Whoopi has lost its New York affiliate WKTU-FM and its co-host Paul Cubby Bryant after he replaces the actress on the Clear Channel starting Monday even as she is replaced by former morning show hostess Melissa Forman on WLIT-FM in Chicago after her ratings plummeted in New York City as well as several other urban centres.
The show still has eight affiliates. However, Clear Channels programming branch Premiere which launched Whoopi Goldberg in 2006 has promised to continue with the show as of now and explore options for a new co-host to replace Bryant.
However, though Wake up with Whoopi seems to be in trouble, Whoopi Goldberg continues to entertain admirers and the general public in the 10-year-old The View which she shares with four other women figures ~ Joy Behar, journalist and show founder Barbara Walters, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Goldberg replaced Rosie O-Donnell as co-host in 2007. ODonnell is credited with raising the popularity ratings of the show with her no-holds-barred approach and outspoken performances.
In December, 2007, Whoopi Goldberg drew a degree of unwarranted criticism after she shared her views on child actress Jamie Lynns teenage pregnancy. Detractors brought up the subject of the teen pregnancy of her own daughter, now 34-year-old Alexandrea Martin. Incidentally, Goldberg did mention her daughters experience in her comments on Lynn, who is also projected as a child role model unlike Alexandrea. Goldberg is the grandmother of three grandchildren through Alexandrea, the eldest of who was born in 1989 on her own birthday which is November 13.
Married and divorced four times, Whoopi Goldberg first appeared in William Farleys avant-garde Citizen: Im Not Losing My Mind, Im Giving It Away and was subsequently selected by Stephen Spielberg to play the lead in Alice Walkers Pulitzer-winning The Color Purple. Her portrayal of a psychic in Ghost won her an Academy Award, a first for African American women in almost 50 years and a second for the community and she followed it up with sterling performances in The Associate, Sister Act, The Pagemaster and Moonlight and Valentino.
She also starred in The Long Walk Home, Corrina, Corrina, Claras Heart, Sarafina! and Fatal Beauty apart from countless other hits, television films and documentaries. In all, Goldberg is one of only ten persons in the world to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony award apart from two Golden Globes and two Saturn Awards. She is also the first African American woman to have hosted the Academy Awards.Whoopi Goldberg has retired from acting since October, 2007, because, according to her: Being a black intellectual with a Jewish surname has finally caught up with me.Whoopi

Glory Fight For Freedom
Glory is the name of a film released on 1989. The plot of the film is based on the history of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Regiment during American Civil War. In this film the struggle of the regiment against Col. Robert Gould Shaw and other abolitionists is depicted. The regiment had to survive against racial prejudice in many forms because it was the first formal unit of U S army made of African American men. In this film it has been showed how Col. Shaw had to face problem to get supplies for his troops and how his regiment had to prove themselves as worthy for fighting among the whites
As a historical drama, Glory takes out some living characters from the pages of history. Matthew Broderick played the role of Col Shaw, the determined leader who was hard on his troops. Though hard trainer to his men, he will go to a great length for them. One of the scenes in the movie shows Col. Shaw ransacking the office for not getting 600 pairs of shoes and shocks. As the movie is based on the activity of this 54th regiment that took the most important role in the Battle of Fort Wagner, some more important characters has been depicted. The characters include Major Cabot Forbes who led the attack on Fort Wagner after Shaw was shot dead.
Another important character that joined Glory straight from the pages of history was an ex slave Private Trip. He bears an important role as he ran up and raised the regiment colors almost immediately after Shaw was shot dead. But he was also shot and it was his death that raised the whole regiment to slope into the fort. The film introduced another character Thomas, a strong symbol of educated colored people in the 1800s. He symbolizes the quest of the colored people for equality. Stabbed at Fort Wagner, he was a very good childhood friend of Shaw.
However, there have been some differences in Glory that makes it a movie and not a chronology. According to the film, all the black soldiers were escaped slaves while the fact says that most of them were born free. But the fact like the way in which Col.Shaw was shot several times on his chest was real. Not only that, the final scene of Shaws body being thrown into the burial pit alongside his fallen soldiers is also historically accurate. The movie won Academy Awards in the category of Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography and Best Sound while nominated in the categories Best Art Direction and Best Film Editing. The movie has won much popularity and was rated as the best movie on Civil War. Wikipedia

Gender roles
A journalist had done a story on gender roles in Kuwait several years before the Gulf War, and she noted then that women customarily walked about 10 feet behind their husbands. She returned to Kuwait recently and observed that the men now walked several yards behind their wives. She approached one of the women for an explanation. "This is marvelous," said the journalist. "What enabled women here to achieve this reversal of roles?" To which the Kuwaiti woman replied: "Land mines."

The Fight Girls Reality Television Show
Fight Girls was a reality television show that began in 2006. Produced by Tom Weber and Scott Messick, it is an original Oxygen series running for 60 minutes. The plot revolved around seven women, who were U.S fighters by profession and who take up a challenge to win a particular fighting championship due to be held in Thailand.
The story showed how ten female fighters underwent a special training program of Muay Thai, a particular form of martial art, under an instructor, Master Toddy, as himself, for six weeks in Las Vegas in order to take part in the Muay Thai championship in Thailand. The Fight Girls live together while their training and the group is reduced to a number of five fighters by setting up in-house fighting competitions within the ten girls. Only the winning girl at the end of all the sessions in the house would be the contestant to be going to Thailand for the main event.
The television show had fine actresses like Lisa Mills, Jennifer Tate, Kerry Vera, Gina Reyes, Michelle Waterson, Ardra Hernandez, Dawn Boyd, Felice Herrig and Miriam Nakamoto as themselves, playing the characters of the fighters. They followed mentors like Gina Carano and Lisa King for the fight scenes. Many claim the series Fight Girls to be highly inspired and a follower of the footsteps of the television show titled The Ultimate Fighter aired on Spike TV.
The theme song of the Fight Girls became extremely popular. Titled Fingerprints, the song has been composed and brought to our ears by the very famous Katy Perry. The show was initially aired on the 7th of August, 2006. But it later premiered on 12th June, 2007. The show was last aired on the 17th July, 2007.
This reality series received a mixed reaction from the critics. Gail Pennington, reporter for the St. Louis Post Dispatch, declared Fight Girls to be a pick of the night for Monday. However it was also critically commented that summer cant last forever, throwing light to the fact that this particular show was believed to be merely best for a lusterless evening.
Similarly, Randee Dawn of the Hollywood Reporter while giving his review on Fight Girls said, A documentary [as opposed to a reality TV program] might have even explored the whiff of dilettantism hanging over the amateurs: to Thai women with limited career opportunities, Muay Thai is a way of life. For Americans, it's a means to opening a gym.
Fight Girls received a fairscore of 6.3 from viewers. It also achieved the 3,134th rank among 17,002 popular television shows. Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II#War_in_China
HISTORY OF WORLD WAR II IN CHINA
World War II, was a global military conflict which involved a majority of the world's nations, including all of the great powers, organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. The war involved the mobilization of over 100 million military personnel, making it the most widespread war in history. In a state of "total war", the major participants placed their complete economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities at the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. Over 70 million people, the majority of them civilians, were killed, making it the deadliest conflict in human history.
The starting date of the war is generally held to be September 1939 with the German invasion of Poland and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by the United Kingdom, France and the British Dominions. However, as a result of other events, many belligerents entered the war before or after this date, during a period which spanned from 1937 to 1941. Amongst these main events are the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the start of Operation Barbarossa and the attack on Pearl Harbor and British and Dutch colonies in South East Asia.
The Soviet Union and the United States emerged from the war as the world's leading superpowers. This set the stage for the Cold War, which lasted for the next 45 years. The United Nations was formed in the hope of preventing another such conflict. The self determination spawned by the war accelerated decolonization movements in Asia and Africa, while Western Europe itself began moving toward integration.

HUMAN CLONING
To clone or not to clone humans?
The cloning of human embryos for reproductive purposes is illegal at this time.
Yet it is still important to examine the consequences and the likelihood of this scenario. The media may dream up and forecast robotic cloned armies of Hitler; however, identical twins illustrate that being genetically identical does not remove their humanness. Identical twins exhibit different personalities and behaviour because environment also plays a major role on who we become.
At any rate, there have been significant difficulties with cloning primates, including an extremely low success rate and a high number of abnormalities. These results make it unacceptable to attempt human cloning at this moment in time. The ethical and social issues that will arise in the future when more efficient methods are developed leave some time for a resolution. Some of the same issues that arose from in vitro fertilization will be revisited (e.g., infertile couples, “replacing” the death of an infant)

Tips for Saving Money While You Travel
The next time you travel, plan your daily spending amount. Bring cash with you, or use an ATM daily for your spending money. Then paperclip each day’s money separately, and carry only one day’s worth on your travels outside of the hotel. You will be surprised at how much you save. This may also tempt you to keep a little aside each day for an especially nice dinner towards the end of your vacation.
Safety first! If you are staying at a hotel with cash, you may wish to keep the money in the hotel’s safe. If you prefer traveler’s checks, simply place your daily amount in a paperclip rather than the cash.

- Sometimes a wrong answer is the result of misunderstanding the question.
- Ask your freinds to explain how they solved a problem; responses may clarify whether help is needed with a procedure, the "facts" are wrong, or a crucial concept is not understood.
- You may learn something that the teacher would find helpful. A short note or telephone call will alert the teacher to possible ways of helping.
- Help yourself become risk takers. Examine wrong answers, and assure that right answers come with understanding.
-Problems can be solved in different ways. Though a problem may have only one correct solution, there are often many ways to get the right answer.
-Doing math in your head is important. Increased use of calculators and computers makes it increasingly important that people be able to determine whether an answer is reasonable.

# Coca-Cola was originally green.
# There is no physical way you can lick your elbow.
# Smart people have more zinc and copper in their hair than… well, people like you and me!
# Look down at your keyboard. Do you see that every letter in the word “Typewriter” is in the middle row? That was done so typewriter salesmen could easily type out the word to demonstrate how quick and easy a typewriter was to use.
# The most popular boat name used is “Obsession.”
# As you read this, there are about 61,000 people flying over the U.S.
# Bulletproof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers and laser printers were all invented by women.
And now our favorite. A chicken can be hypnotized! Take the closest chicken (ha!) and gently lay it down. Hold the head to the ground. Now, take a piece of chalk and slowly draw a line from the tip of the beak out. Redraw the same line over and over. Now, remove your hands and the chicken will remain in the same position. And there you have it – a hypnotized chicken!

Saving Change Can Result in a Big Surprise!
I am starting my own change jar with my children. We will plan on what we will spend the money on and save the coins together. We will give some of the money to charity, and probably use the rest for a higher ticket item that we normally would not buy or for a special family outing that we otherwise could not afford.
This will be a good lesson for them on the benefits of both saving and giving – and will teach them how to make a little money go a long way.

How to Make an Origami Swan
1. Make a square if you do not have a square piece of paper. Fold an 8.5 " by 11 " sheet of paper diagonally so you make a right triangle and remove the excess paper as shown in the illustration. If using single-sided colored paper, start by folding the colored side inward.
2. Fold the square diagonally the other way. Now you should have a nice "X" shape. Flip the paper over. Fold the paper in half again, but this time fold it down the middle. Open the paper.
3. Push in the folds on the diagonal lines. Hold it in place with your fingertips. Push on the edges so you get a square. Make sure that it is as close to being perfect as possible.
4. Make sure that the open side of the square is facing you and fold one side of the paper towards the middle as shown in the picture. The open side of the square is highlighted. Do the same with the other sides until you get a kite shape. Fold the leftover triangle at the top down both ways, it helps for the next step and a later one.
5. Unfold the sides that you have just folded. Now you will need to turn the shape "inside out". Lift one of the open sides half way up and fold the diagonal folds from the previous step inside out. Be sure to follow the marks that the previous step left. This step is very hard to explain in words(and can be hard to do), so try to understand by following the illustration. Do the same with the other side.
6. There should be two movable sides facing you. Fold the sides in to the middle, then perform a "book fold". This is taking a single half of a side and turning it like a book over the one directly next to it. You should now have something similar to a fox head. Make sure the "ears" on top are crisp. The line from the top of the kite shape before should be on both sides of the fox's "face". Fold the face up using the line. Carefully pull the wings(the larger folds) out.
7. Pick which one of these pieces that you want to be a head, then fold it down. You're done! To make the wings flap, just pull on two of the bottom edges. If you just want it to sit there, give it a bit more stability by blowing it up through the hole in the bottom.

The Good: The Apple iPhone has a stunning display, a sleek design, and an innovative multitouch user interface. Its Safari browser makes for a superb Web surfing experience, and it offers easy-to-use apps. As an iPod, it shines.
The Bad: The Apple iPhone has variable call quality and lacks some basic features found in many cell phones, including stereo Bluetooth support and 3G compatibility. Integrated memory is stingy for an iPod, and you have to sync the iPhone to manage music content.
The Bottom Line: Despite some important missing features, a slow data network, and call quality that doesn’t always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated cell phone and MP3 player.

Those who listened to music after surgery had less pain and therefore needed fewer painkillers. As a matter of fact, listening to IPod tunes had the same effect as a 325-mg dose of acetaminophen. But will this help the pain when you are opening the hospital bill?!

bring handphone at school..better or worst??
for me,depending on the child's age, losing the phone would be one disadvantage. Using it during school hours to call or text friends or having the ringer volume on and having some call you during class & then having the phone taken away is a disadvantage and a big no no.
besides, the good thing about having a cell phone at school is the child can contact their parent or relative or friend to pick them up if they are staying late after school. If they are walking home, they have a phone to call 999 if someone is harassing them.

Coral reefs should be preserved because they are a source of biodiversity. For some poor countries, they are an important source of nutrition and income. Having marine reserves is economically advantageous as fish can grow bigger and replenish fish stocks. The reefs also help prevent shoreline erosion and aid growth of mangrove swamps and seagrasses, home to a huge variety of marine life. Besides, reef can boost income from eco-tourism. The coral themselves are a valuable source of biochemical material for pharmaceutical purposes and other products. The urgency to conserve this marine ecosystem, which cannot withstand abuse, lies in its rarity.

The greatest of my everyday fears is the computer. Every time I approach one, I start to panic and imagine all that could possibly go wrong. The process of just getting the computer started involves numerous steps such as pressing various switches and buttons. If I can cross this hurdle, my next worry is the numerous little pictures that crowd the screen. How do I get pass this? After al, most of the time I just want to type a simple memo. When I finally locate the right picture to click on, a good five minutes would have gone by. So initially I begin to type with some hesitation for fear that I may inevitably press the wrong key and delete my entire file or worse, that of my siblings'. When you are just about to congratulate yourself that you are technology-savvy, you start bitting at your nails, wondering how on earth you are going to get the memo printed. I looked at the printer sitting pretty by the side of monitor. Fear sets and I call for help. Who says that the computer is user-friendly?

http://www.globalwarmingarchive.com/Home.aspx
Newspaper articles about global warming tell the story of the Earth's climate and the diverse opinions and scientific discoveries surrounding the theory of global warming. From the Industrial Revolution to the Kyoto treaty and the advent of hybrid technology, the topic of global climate change has enthralled readers and sparked debate for centuries.
Since ancient times, people have believed that human activity could affect the environment. The discovery of past ice ages shows that Earth's climate is in constant flux and that throughout history, scientists have searched for the cause of these changes. Though scientists discovered the greenhouse effect in the late 19th century, the theory of global warming wasn't accepted as a scientifically proven fact until 1992 when the United Nations held a Conference on Environment and Development.
Today, global warming is a widely accepted reality and speculation about its effects range from the hysteria to the acceptance. Newspapers chronicle the slowly changing climate and the actions that have affected that change. The Global Warming Archive provides access to thousands of articles on the environment and the scientists who documented its change.

love??this time i want to share about love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal
In 1612, a teenage girl, Arjumand Banu, married 15-year-old Shah Jahan, ruler of the Mughal Empire. Renamed Mumtaz Mahal, she bore Shah Jahan 14 children and became his favorite wife. After Mumtaz died in 1629, the grieving emperor resolved to create a fitting monument.
It took 20,000 workers and 1,000 elephants nearly 20 years to complete this monument-the Taj Mahal.
Built of white marble, the Taj sits on a sandstone platform. A 137-foot high dome tops the mausoleum. The interior is lavishly decorated in lapis lazuli, turquoise, agate, jasper, and colored marble. The exterior is paved with semiprecious stones that sparkle in the sun. The surrounding garden contains four water channels representing the four rivers of Islamic paradise.
Shah Jahan was never able to complete a black marble mausoleum he planned for himself. Deposed by his son, Shah Jahan was imprisoned in the Red Fort of Agra, and spent lonely hours staring across the Jamuna River at the monument to his beloved queen. He was eventually buried beside her in the Taj Mahal.

hyye guys!!!
i found several tips for good study..just read it..
Consider yourself in a win-win situation
When you contribute your best to a class, you, your fellow students,
and even your teacher will benefit.
Your grade can then be one additional check on your performance
First understand others, then attempt to be understood
When you have an issue with an instructor (a questionable grade, an assignment deadline, etc.) put yourself in the instructor's place.
Now ask yourself how you can best make your argument given his/her situation
Look for better solutions to problems
For example, if you don't understand the course material, don't just re-read it.
Try something else! Consult with the professor, a tutor, an academic advisor, a classmate, a study group, or your school's study skills center
Look to continually challenge yourself
In 1998, the then Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad (now Tun Dr Mahathir) imposed capital control. After making the announcement following weeks of shrugging off such rumours as baseless, he left the international market gaping in disbelief. It did not take long before detractors emerged condemning such action as a retrograde step for a country once dubbed as a "maverick market" by financial analysts. Opposition leaders, local and international financial gurus, fund managers and the ubiquitous George Soros hastened to jump onto the bandwagon and criticised Mahathir and his financial aide, Tun Daim Zainuddin, as anti-liberal and authoritarian. However, after a year, a clearer picture has emerged as to the positive effects of the capital controls. The after effects of this bold move on hedge funds, the export market and investments will be examined in detail to prove that if the Prime Minister had not taken this controversial step, then the Malaysian economy would not have recovered.

Purple Tomatoes for a Healthy You
Oregon State University researchers are working on a new tomato whose blueberry colored skin is full of antioxidants. The purple skin contains the same phytochemical that is found in blueberries and is known to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer.
This tomato is in the same family as a wild grown tomato found in South America. The hybrid is not yet available to the public - but when it is, not only will your garden be beautiful, but will provide a healthy boost of wonderful antioxidants as well!

Cola Can Increase the Risk for Osteoporosis in Women
A surprising new study has linked cola to osteoporosis in women. Findings indicated the type of cola did not matter, whether it was diet or regular. Other fizzing sodas did not have the same reaction in women as cola did. Scientists think the cause might be from the phosphoric acid found in cola. It seems the phosphoric acid can cause the body to excrete calcium from the body.
Women, talk to your doctor about your risk for osteoporosis. And to help prevent it, be sure to get plenty of calcium, exercise, and yes – avoid cola drinks!

Hye my fellow friends. I would like to give you some tips here. Before you buy a printer, consider the anticipated usage. If it is for large numbers of monochrome outputs, choose a laser printer for its speed, clear and smudge-proof output. If it is for occasional high quality colour printouts, choose a colour inkjet printer for its photo-quality output. Secondly, the initial and running expenditure. Monochrome putputs from laser printers are good even on plain paper, while colour inkjet printers can also be used to print in monochrome. Thirdly, investigate the strengths and weeknesses of existing printers, taking note of warranty and software support. Finally, get a sample printout from the machine itself before committing to a purchase.

Ipod Can Cause Permanent Hearing Loss
Did you know your child's MP3 player or ipod could cause him or her permanent hearing loss? Research now shows that if you play a song at the maximum volume for as little as five minutes, it can cause hearing loss that can never be repaired. Apple.Com offers a volume control that you can download for free which will keep the sound at 60%. Unfortunately, there will probably be hacks created that your child can download to override this plug-in, so be sure to check every week or so to be sure the Ipod retains the volume control.

Buy Organic to Decrease Leukemia Risk
French scientists have found that a child's early exposure (including in utero) to pesticides may double the risk of developing acute leukemia. To help avoid pesticide exposure, buy organic fruits and vegetables. Although pricey, these are pesticide free and well worth the cost.
Fruits and vegetables that contain the most pesticides are apples, bell peppers, celery, cherries, imported grapes, nectarines, peaches, pears, potatoes, raspberries, strawberries and spinach.
Those with the least amount of pesticide residue include asparagus, avocados, bananas, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet corn, kiwi, mango, onion, papaya, pineapples and peas.
If you have a tight budget, try to purchase the higher pesticide residue fruits and vegetables organically, to decrease your child's risk for developing leukemia.

What is tuberculosis? Commonly it is known as TB. It is a bacterial infection that is most often found in the lungs but can spread to other parts of body. TB in the lungs is easily spread to other people through coughingor laughing. It is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, slow-growing basteria that thrive in areasof the body that are rich in blood and oxygen, such as the lung.
If you have latent TB, you will not have symptoms unless the disease becomes active. Symptoms of TB may include fatigue and weight loss, rapid heartbeat, swelling in the neck, shortness of breath and chest pain. Doctors generally use a combination of four antibiotics to treat active TB. Medications for active TB must be taken for at least 6 months.

Amazing Trivia | Cure for an Ice Cream Headache
Apparently, when the cold touches the roof of your mouth it causes a bundle of nerves called the sphenopalantine ganglion to spasm. This in turn causes the blood vessels around the brain to dilate or enlarge. When the blood vessels are dilated you experience a shooting pain, usually in the front of your head. This chilling sensation is often referred to as an "ice cream headache" or a "brain freeze."
There are several quick "cures" for an ice cream headache - some of which may work for you. The most common cure for an ice cream headache is to firmly push your tongue to the roof of your mouth and hold it there. Some have found that pressing the bottom of the tongue rather than the top works best. Another is to press the pad of your thumb against the same area. Some find a drink of warm water will quickly cure an ice cream headache while others stand by putting a pinch of salt in their mouths. You can try pressing your thumb against the inside of you wrist, as some do - or bend down so your head is below your heart.

Vacation Tip - Is The Food In Your Home Freezer Safe?
before you go on vacation, fill a ziplock bag with ice and place it in the freezer. When you return, check to see if the ice is still intact. If the ice is no longer in cube form, the electricity was off long enough for your food to have thawed and refrozen.
Unfortunately, this means it is time to throw out your potentially spoiled food and call the insurance company to see if the cost is covered. Remember, when in doubt, throw it out.
This is also a good tip for those who vacation on the weekends in a second home. Keep a bag of ice cubes in the freezer while you are away as an indicator of a possible power outage. After all, better safe than sorry!

Amazing and Fast Potatoes
You have GOT to try these potatoes. They are easy and taste like you worked all day to make them. The kids go crazy for them, and they are yummy the second time around!
First, find some small to medium sized potatoes and wash them. In the meantime, saut some garlic in olive oil in a pan. Add onions if your family enjoys them. Salt and pepper to taste. Now, place your potatoes in the pan and fill the pan with enough chicken broth (store-bought is fine!) to cover them halfway. Cover and cook until they are soft.
Take off the lid and let the broth boil down. As it starts to get low, carefully flip your potatoes over. Now the fun part. Grab yourself a glass or coffee mug and carefully squeeze down the potato until it slightly cracks. When the skin on the bottom is a bit crispy or appears caramelized, flip the potatoes one more time if you want the other side to be a bit crispy. These potatoes are particularly tasty with kosher salt sprinkled on them.
The beauty of this recipe is its versatility. If you have no broth, use water and onion soup mix. Or use broth as well as the soup mixture. If you are short on time, microwave the potatoes first. Rosemary is delicious with these too, as well as a bit of parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. Use your imagination, and believe me, your family will thank you!

Study Shows Hamburgers Can Cause Asthma
A study was conducted under the careful eye of Dr. Kristen Wickens of Wellington Asthma Research Group, based in New Zealand. The study followed 1,321 children between the ages of 10 and 12 years old. Diet was recorded, along with the prevalence of asthma and it's symptoms. The children were also given skin prick tests for common environmental allergens.
The study found that children eating more than one fast food hamburger a week were 75% more likely to have asthma and 100% more likely to suffer from wheezing. Other fast food meals will increase chances of wheezing as well.
Dr. Wickens suggested the high salt content of these hamburgers may be the culprit, but this has yet to be studied. So if your child suffers from asthma, wheezing or allergies, consider a healthier alternative to fast food meals - particularly hamburgers.

Benefits of Coffee?
There is peace to know that coffee offers some benefits to our health. However, these results should not be interpreted as an incentive to increase your daily coffee intake. Too much coffee may actually increase the risk of heart disease for some people. Published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition June 2005, researchers from the University of Athens found that coffee drinkers had more stiffness of the major blood vessel in the body than non-coffee drinkers. They suggested for people with high blood pressure or other risk factors for heart disease who drink more than 3 cups of coffee a day to cut down.
If you would like to eat more foods high in antioxidants, it is best to choose colored fruits and vegetables. Not only do they offer antioxidants, they contain higher content of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Berries, red grapes, tomatoes are good sources.

What to Look For in a Yogurt
Yogurt is a very versatile food. It can be enjoyed on its own, used as a dip, or mixed as a sauce or dressing. As food scientists begin to develop new flavors and varieties, you can even find soy-based and heart-friendly yogurt products (containing ingredients such as fiber and omega 3 fatty acids) in the dairy aisle. Yogurt can definitely be classified as a health food... if you choose the right kind. Therefore, it is important to read the Nutrition Facts label when comparing products. It's also always good to check the ingredient list. In general, a longer ingredient list can mean more calories and fillers, so choose wisely

Dolphins can make many different sounds. They can also imitate other noises such as human voices and machines. A dolphin expert said that when dolphins make sounds they are talking. They do not talk in the same way as parrots. Parrots can be taught to copy human words. Dolphins, however, have a language of their own. This is possible because dolphins possess brains which are larger than ours.

Poetry is interesting, fun and thought proviking. It can be meaningful because it appeals to your feelings. Many people fear poetry as they think it is abstract and the meaning is not clear. They feel confused and lost. But poetry is really worth your time because it can be very beautiful. It expresses so much meaning using so few words.

Scuba Diving at Sipadan Island
And if you enjoy seeing pelagic fishes and underwater creatures, then this is where you should be spending your diving vacation. Some of the popular dive spots around the island.
There’s a reason why the place is called the Drop Off. Imagine just kneeling down in shallow water and looking straight down into the abyss 600 meters away at the edge. Really scary and exciting at the same time! During your dives at the Drop Off, you might see (or maybe bump into, if you don’t see where you are going) a couple of Manta Rays playing nearby.

New Drug Helps Smokers Quit the Habit
Are you a smoker who has tried just about everything to quit? Don’t worry, there is still help out there!
There is a new drug called Varenicline that is currently considered the best tool on the market to help individuals quit smoking. Taken in a pill form twice a day, this medication can be used for up to 24 weeks.
Doctors believe Varenicline keeps nicotine from attaching to the brain’s receptors that are responsible for the “good feelings” you get when smoking. Furthermore, it chemically reduces your cravings for more. There is a possibility that this medication will also work with alcoholism, although these studies are not yet complete.
Studies show that 80% of smokers want to quit, for both financial and health purposes. If you are one of them, ask your doctor about Varenicline and other prescriptions and programs that will help you to kick the habit – for good!

Mint Will Keep Your House Smelling Fresh [Household Tips]
To keep your house smelling fresh, keep a mint plant in rooms that tend to get musty. Besides being decorative, the mint will absorb stale odors. This especially works well in a nursery, bathroom or kitchen. And when you want a boost to your iced tea, pick and rinse off some mint leaves from the kitchen plant - very tasty!

http://www.d.umn.edu/kmc/student/loon/acad/strat/motivate.html
Motivation
Ask any person who is successful in whatever he or she is doing what motivates him/her, and very likely the answer will be "goals". Goal Setting is extremely important to motivation and success. So what motivates you? Why are you in college? If you are in college because that's what your parents want, you may find it difficult to motivate yourself. Sure, it's possible to succeed with someone else providing the motivation for you. ("If you graduate from college, I'll give you a car!" or worse "If you don't graduate from college, you won't get a car.") But motivation that comes from within really makes the difference.
Certainly, you need some intelligence, knowledge base, study skills, and time management skills, but if you don't have motivation, you won't get far. Think about this analogy. You have a car with a full tank of gas, a well-tuned engine, good set of tires, quadraphonic CD system, and a sleek, polished exterior. There it sits. This car has incredible potential. (Have you heard that before?) However, until a driver sits behind the wheel, puts the key in the ignition, and cranks it up, the car doesn't function. You guessed it; the KEY is MOTIVATION.
Interest is an important motivator for a student. So is a desire to learn. When you link these two things together, you create success. Often success in an endeavor leads to more interest and a greater desire to learn, creating an upward spiral of motivation toward a goal you have established.
So be honest with yourself

Disruption of blood flow to the brain is known as stroke (or cerebrovascular accident - CVA) - a disorder that occurs in two basic forms: clot strokes and bleeding stroke, both potentially life threatening. . The rest come from bleeding stroke when blood vessels in the brain rupture, spilling blood into the brain.
Foods that help ward off clots, keep blood vessel flexible and unclogged, and keep blood pressure normal are good bets for preventing strokes. Even one extra daily portion of the right foods may cut an astounding 40 to 60 percent or even more of your chances of having or dying of a stroke as some scientific studies have indicated. Such an effective and certainly safer and cheaper drug is in everyone’s possession right now.

http://www.foodasfood.com/brain-power-foods/
Brain Power Foods
Brain power is characterized by how alert, energetic, and concentrated your brain is in response to a task. Information in your brain passes through neurotransmitters, which are manufactured by the nerve cells using precursors.
Food affects your brain power by affecting the production of neurotransmitters in your brain. By supplying amino acids, which are used as precursors to manufacture neurotransmitters, and by affecting the entry of the amino acids into brain, foods can have a significant impact on your brain activity. High-carbohydrate foods in general tend to subdue brain activity. Protein foods, on the other hand, can counteract carbohydrate food induced sluggishness. In addition, foods and herbs can have effects on brain activity by affecting blood circulation - the supply line of oxygen, nutrient, and hormone to the brain.

http://www.free-article-directory.net/Article/Good-Eating-Habits----Seven-Myths-to-Avoid/3422
Good Eating Habits
Your body can be thought of as a precision machine. It comes with thousands of intricate parts that combine to make an amazingly functional team. Like any machine, your body needs regular maintenance and fuel.
Bodies need fuel with the right mix of nutrients to run at maximum efficiency. Good eating habits will improve your overall health, but it is also necessary to dig through the poor information that most of us hear about.
There are seven big myths about good eating habits
1. Working out on an empty stomach is best
2. Energy bars and drinks are good meal replacements
3. Breakfast is not that important
4. Low-carb diets offer all the nutrients you need
5. Just eat what you want, whenever you want
6. Reduce calories as much as possible
7. Skip alcohol and soda
The outer layers of a person only define or represent the vehicle/body they operate. The outer layers are easily offended and quick to embrace emotional things whether it's happy or sad. A person can only be who they really are when their soul shines through the thin and fragile outer layers. The Soul of a person is who they truly are, when the outer layer is removed. Remove your outer layers with yourself and in life so that you can be the best that you are
Don't be afraid to be you. Being you is what makes you so unique and outstanding. Be the best at being you!

Gardening!!!
You need to be aware that gardening is not just like several other activities. It's an art which needs real affection, care, as well as passion for plant life. If you are concerned about the subject, you’ve got to be fond of plants. Lots of people don’t get engaged in gardening unless they want. Several people ignore the value of gardening publications and this is truly a big flaw.
Do you really know that including compost or mulch to your garden will surely be of tremendous assistance? If you don’t know exactly where to get mulch, it is trouble-free to get.
It’s not good enough to get just about any form of gardening glove as a gardener. Several people feel so, and are severely disappointed when they see how false they are. Here’s a great profit of subscribing to in addition to being an enthusiastic reader of gardening publications. Anytime a newest implement is developed, such as a newest mower implement or a unique blower, subscribers of gardening publications are by no way left behind concerning the course of events. So, like said earlier in this piece, that’s why it is an excellent idea to subscribe to an excellent gardening publication
Life moves on, whether we act as cowards or heroes. Life has no other discipline to impose, if we would but realize it, than to accept life unquestioningly. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy, and strength, if faced with an open mind. Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.

Its length is about two large school buses and its height about a four storey building.
Meanwhile the smallest dinosaur was slightly larger than a chicken. Compsognathus was 1 m long and probably weighed about 2.5 kg.
These two dinosaur types all lived in the Jurassic Period. If these dinosaurs still alive until today, I just can't imagine what would happened to our world.

On The Wings of A Butterfly
by Corky Ferguson
Your friendship is special
Like the flowers that bloom,
Or when a butterfly emerges
From within its cocoon...
You remind me of that butterfly,
Loving and free,
Bright and colorful,
For the world to see...
We will share sunshine and rainbows;
Sometimes, the rain and the snow;
We'll stand together through it,
While the cold winds blow...
When the time is right,
We won't stop to ask "Why?"
Our friendship will take flight
On the wings of a butterfly ...
This poem is about friendship. The poem compares his/her friendship with butterfly. The similarity of the poet friendship with butterfly. The beautiful of friendship like butterfly.

Quote for the day is:
The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible, by
Arthur C. Clarke.
So, what is the meaning of this quote? I think, for me what this quote is trying to say is that we can never know our limit until we really try our best to beat the limit itself. That is why we need to go beyond our limit and strike towards the impossible. Only then we know what is the limit.

During the election in our campus recently, I've heard lots of manifestos are being delivered. Most of them promised to lowered the food price in the student's cafe. The food in our cafe is extremely expensive. Hope that those who are chosen to represent the students of UMP can keep their promise to lower the price of food. But I think they miss out the Ina Shoppe. The goods that are sold in it is expensive too. Just imagine, one packet of noodles cost us up to RM5 and more. But outside UMP we can get it for RM3.50. Well, I hope that somebody will hear what I'm trying to say here. For those who become the students representatives, hope that they really can keep their promises and congratulation to them.

assalamualaikum t all muslims and hi to everyone,
Today i have read an article about internat hacking.
Sounds interesting to me.Actually my dream is to become a computer expertise. I love everything about computer. Hacking sounds good to. Unfortunately, there are a lot of internet hackers out there use their hacking skills to deceive people for money. How sad!
The article i've read is from nzherald.co.nz site. Like people said, we can't escape from punishment. The articles says that an east Auckland computer hacker , who scammed hundreds of thousands dollars and attracted the FBI to New Zealand, has been jailed for three years.
What a waste. Such a brilliant brain should use their skills to do good things and help people. With such a genius brain, he could create something that brings benefits to the whole world.
Moral of the story is, do not use your brain in the wrong way to get money. Of course the advantage can be gotten, but there is always punishment waiting for the guilty people. When it happened, there is no turning back.
Hi, now is move in october already . Today i'm read an interest araticle that teach us how to utilize our computer to make money, this quite interest because it let me know even we don't hv any sources and materials, but with a computer that can online, we'll be albe to make a good imcome by using it .
The way for making those money is becoming one of the AdSense Earner who manage to setting place or website for the advestisement. It list out many ways that need to take precausion when running this business, but the most important things is we need to understant clearly what the business about and how to running that. Beside, consistency is the most important part to bring that business success.
To conclude this comment, i'm think that runnning a business like this is acceptable for students like us get free time beside study, but must know that the risk of running this business and take precaution to avoid it.Furthermore don't get too deep to running this business until forget the duty of us as a student.

Now i'm just read an article with a topic "How Can I Balance Work & Play?"
I'm attract by this topic and read it because this also a very serious problem facing by enverones including me as well. This article is writed with dialog mode and tell the story. the answer is very good and i'm just simply put below :
Your life and work are an integral whole. You are more than just someone who works. You have many roles in your life: you're a friend, family member, community member, significant other, parent and more. You have mental, emotional, spiritual and physical needs. How well are you balancing your roles and your needs?
Take time to honor your needs, create calmness in your day and renew your spirit. You will find that focusing on cultivating more balance in your life can help your work life improve. You will be more relaxed, better able to focus and better able to produce high quality work. Coming from a strong personal foundation will increase your professional abilities and improve your view of your work.
Begin by considering your personal and professional roles and how much time you spend each week on each role. Examples of personal roles are: mother, father, sister, brother, best friend, confidant, daughter, son, mentor. Examples of professional roles are: employee, manager, mentor, team member, leader, specific job title. List each role in your life and for one week, carry around a small notepad and make note of how much time you spend on each role.
Next, review your needs in each area: mental , physical, emotional and spiritual.
Examples of mental needs: intellectual stimulation, diversity of thought, learning.
Examples of physical needs: food, shelter, water, Exercise.
Examples of emotional needs: love, belonging, security.
Examples of spiritual needs: meditation, religious/spiritual practice on a regular basis, rituals.
Consider how much time you spend in each area and note which areas you'd like to spend more time on.
Next, look at how you can make room in your life to take the time to focus on the needs that have been neglected and the roles you want to spend more time on. What extraneous tasks can be eliminated from your life or delegated to someone else? Schedule time for yourself and treat it like any other appointment.
Selfmanagement is very important for us to fix ourself in order to facing any problems. As a student we also need that skill but who will actually get a good skill of that ....

To add insult to injury, the 16-year-old girl was also left to deal with the trauma on her own after her boyfriend did not return for her.
The incident occurred in a house in Damansara on Saturday, where the girl had stayed with her boyfriend.
It is learnt that the boyfriend had asked his friend if he could stay with the girl who was four months pregnant. The friend then raped the girl as soon as the boyfriend stepped out of the house.
The girl went back to her parents' house and after relating her ordeal, lodged a report at the police station here.
Police picked up the boyfriend on Saturday and are now looking for his friend. Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed the case.

today I'd read a newspaper scrapt about..students who sitting PMR examination in ward....
For example thers is 1 student that need to answer the question in ward after he lost his finger when a firecracker exploded at his right hand...
It's a pity for him because during the examination he need to eat painkiller so that he won't felt hurt at his right hand....
Beside that, there are several student that need to answer PMR in prison because of juvenile case...and sadly theres on student need to answer PMR in emergency room because of an accident...
Therefore these story is a lesson for us to be more careful...

Today I had read a news from the internet. The news was about Mohd Muin Yaakub, which was 15 years old, grimaces in pain as he used his left hand to tick the answer to a question in the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) Bahasa Melayu 1 paper. The examination was held in a special room at the orthopaedic ward of Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) at Kubang Krian.
An invigilator who was there to assist Mohd Muin Yaakub then blackened the answer on a separate answer sheet. Mohd Muin Yaakub, who lost three fingers when a firecracker exploded in his right hand was among 15 students in Kelantan who were taking their PMR exam in hospitals.
Mohd Mohd Muin Yaakub Yaakub was using firecrackers to chase a stray cow from his father's vegetable farm last Thursday, when they exploded in his hand. His father, former teacher Mohd Judin Samad, which was 49 years old, who was watching him from outside the room. He said that he would be happy if his son could pass all the subjects and go on to Form Four.
In conclusion, I think it is quite difficult for him to take the exam in this condition. That is because
he was not able to revise in the ward with people coming and going all the time. So, I hope that he can sucess in his PMR examination.
